Black Joy Rest is a muraled house in Normandy MO, displaying the art work of contemporary artists throughout the African diaspora, centering on St. Louis, featuring work by Brock Seals and Three Sisters Clark. You can take down and rehang the art for your event, but you break, you buy. Same policy for anything you use. Treat it like your own and be willing to promptly replace. Chairs, couches, floor seating can accommodate 15-20 guests, all together. Wifi, two wood grained speakers with blue tooth technology (Nobusound receiver) NO cable. The TV is just a monitor. All beds can be used for seating and vice versa. Sunrise can be seen from the front room and sunset from the back porch. Quiet, serene neighborhood. Like to keep it that way. Wonderful neighbors, who do call the police. Be advised. House next door is haunted. Mine is, too, but the ghosts are happy because my ancestors are proud of this house.

We were very pleased with our short stay & the design of the house. It was just right for the occasion.
Carlisa R. booked a 1st birthday party for 25 people
It was a very hot day and the ac was not working well so the house was very hot. Cleanliness could have been a lot better. Other than that the house was cute and the whole house is painted making for a very unique and cool vibe to it. After discussing the issues with the host Jewel she was very professional and very helpful and understanding! She made great accommodations and overall it made for a nice space to have a gathering.
