Henry O. booked a birthday party for 60 people
This experience was honestly the worst! I have been using Peerspace for a while now, and this venue was just a mess. We had booked the location a week in advance, just because the event was a last minute event. However, when we met with Savannah (Emeka’s partner) to view the space, she assured us that the booking wouldn’t be a problem and even agreed to a price within our budget. We were satisfied with the entire location when we viewed it the week before and when we left everything was great. Two or three days before the event, Emeka texts us and says the bathroom wouldn’t be available because it was under construction. This made us seek out other locations, but it was impossible to find something else that last minute. We told him it would be fine and that we would be okay with sending our guests across the street to the restaurant to use their bathroom. So at this point, everything was okay. THEN, at 12am the day of the event, we received a text from Savannah stating that the venue was under construction. We were confused why they would start construction the day before we had an event. Anyways, we started to panic because we didn’t know what to expect. We asked if we could come into the venue a few hours earlier to set up. She sent us a video of the outside area, but failed o show us the walls on the inside, so we didn’t know what to expect. She agreed to meet up at the venue around 11am to view the construction. The concrete in the outside area was completely dug out. There were about 20 holes in the walls on the interior of the space. It was just a mess, to be completely honest. It seemed damn near impossible to get it back to the state it was originally in. Anyways, we had seen a few construction guys working, and started to talk to them about how we can conceal the damage before the event. They were confused and told us they didn’t know an event was taking place. They said that the owners of the space didn’t even have a permit to operate and that the city requested an inspection before they receive permit. Essentially, the workers were getting the venue together for the inspection. This was baffling to hear, but it’s not like we were going to cancel our event the day of. So we were able to finesse the decorations to conceal the damage, but it was still annoying and extremely time consuming to do so. Anyways, fast forward to the event, they kept harassing us around our guests and it was very uncomfortable. I would NEVER rent with them again.
Jazmin B. booked a video shoot for 15 people
Bathroom was clogged the minute we walked in. Poor communication and two many “location owners/managers” to keep up with. No AC. Very disappointed. We needed an extra hour for our music video and got charged for 2. Never again.
