About the Space

This Central London stylish photo & video space is an open plan, 1,000sqft, photography, TV/video studio, production set and event space in central London. Ten minutes walk from Angel and Old Street tubes, this is a bright, spacious, characterful warehouse. The space is ideal for lifestyle shoots where lots of space is required to accommodate cast and crew. It also benefits from having a single aperture, so blackout is simple and quick for product stills and video. There is a built in ceiling track with LED lights for hire or for use with your own lights. All the furniture and props in the photos are free for you to use and move about to suit your set ups. We also have a range of cameras, lenses and lights for hire. And we have great natural light! We are on Regents Canal, with access to a tranquil outside area on the canalside, and a very lovely cafe in our cobbled courtyard. You can also use our fully equipped kitchen and help yourselves to water, tea and coffee all day. Clients include: BBC, Body Shop, Campaign Film, Channel 4, Hardcash Productions, ITV, LadBible, Octopus Publishing, Prostate Cancer UK. Lighting description

We have a single warehouse-style window, which looks out onto a cobbled courtyard. Brightest time of the day is between 11am-2pm. We also have blackout blinds. And we have a large range of lights for hire.

Space is not soundproof

Ambient noise description

UP Studios is in a quiet, mostly residential street. Having very thick walls and only one window which overlooks a quiet private courtyard, noise transmission from external sources is rare. However, whilst we do seek notice of any scheduled works, it is a working, commercial environment, and although it's unusual for a production to be interrupted by external noise at UP, we can't provide that guarantee. We therefore advise, on the rare occasion that some works do occur on your shoot day, that a member of your team may be required to liaise with the on-site concierge or the perpetrators to solve the issue. As stated previously, it is a rare occurrence and in 10 years of running the studio we've not had any issues with noise that haven't been easily and amicably resolved.

General Rules

No smoking in the building. As we are in a residential area, we request that guests do not play loud music at any time. No alcohol after 8pm. All domestic rubbish (food packaging, drinks containers) must be placed in bin bags and left just outside the internal doors of the studio. There is a NO GLITTER policy inside the studio. Please note: Although generally very quiet, the studio is not soundproof. Outside catering is allowed.

Health and Safety Measures

MEASURES IN PLACE • Clients are requested to bring their own PPE • Client-facing studio staff will wear face-masks when in the studio • There are hand washing facilities in the studio and wall mounted antibacterial gel is available as you enter the studio and in the toilet • We clean the studio thoroughly before and after the shoot (although we do still ask you to tidy the studio before you leave) • We provide floor tape so you can highlight 2m distancing as you see fit • We have a ‘one person at a time’ policy in the corridor leading to the toilet • We have paper hand towels in the toilet

Enhanced cleaning measures:

The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

The following equipment is provided for every guest:

Disinfecting wipes or spray and paper towels
Disposable gloves
Disposable masks / face coverings
Hand Sanitizer
