Kitschy Vintage Wes Anderson-Inspired Cabin in the Mountains of Southern California

A cozy 1948 cabin in Big Bear Lake, CA. Thoughtfully designed with modern touches to complement the cabin's vintage spirit. Moonrise Kingdom is our North star. The cabin is conveniently located in the heart of Big Bear Lake. Just 1 mile from The Village (downtown shopping/dining), a few blocks from the lake, and 3 miles from the ski resorts. Our cabin is designed to be a cozy, comfy retreat from city living. Retro vibe, modern appliances, fast wifi, smart TV, and everything you need to relax in the mountains. The main bedroom is called The Smokey Room (lots of vintage 70s Smokey art) and has a queen bed with a super comfy Purple brand mattress. The second bedroom is The Scout room (filled with vintage Boy Scout memorabilia) and has a full-sized bed with new, soft memory foam bamboo mattresses. Pop a cassette tape into the player and settle in. The kitchen has brand new retro-style appliances and is stocked with all the basics for your stay. Coffee, tea, cocoa, condiments, and spices. A SMEG toaster, French press coffee maker, Blue Bottle cold brew maker, tea kettle, and a Kitchenaid if you choose to get cookin'. There is no microwave or dishwasher (we’re in the mountains in a vintage 1940s cabin!). The bathroom is freshly tiled to modernize the classic 50s cast iron tub with freestanding shower ring. Toiletries are all provided (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion) and have eco-friendly refillable containers by Public Goods. The living room has a brand new Joybird sleeper sofa that pulls out to a queen bed. Sheets and blankets are in the mudroom. Cozy green velvet West Elm armchair, Eames reproduction rocking chair to kick back and enjoy the fire. The dining area has a custom wood plank table with new West Elm mid-century walnut chairs. There is also extra seating at the bar countertop with West Elm stools. I like to set up my laptop on the counter and work from there! Pets! I love them. I live here part-time with my corgi. I have a big Carhartt dog bed for you to use. Please keep pets off the furniture, clean up any droppings in the yard, and use the pet-specific blankets in the back mudroom. When you are not at the cabin, please use the gate to keep dogs in the kitchen area. I have a Dyson animal vac hanging in the kitchen closet. If you have super sensitive animal allergies, this is not the place for you! We clean thoroughly between guests, but pets are gonna pet. I also have an air purifier that you can run. It’s the white machine on the side of the couch. There is an extra $50 cleaning fee charged per pet. The backyard has a hot tub, grill, hammock, picnic table, Adirondack chairs, and corn hole game.
