About the Space

Our 1865 farmhouse with barn, combines the best of genuine farmhouse charm with modern style. We have had multiple photo shoots and commercials filmed in our home over the years, so understand what’s involved in the creative process. Many of the house's vintage features remain intact, including the lovely wrap-around front porch flanked by a large perennial garden, the bright green original barn with a tin roof in the large backyard, floor to ceiling windows in the living room, original wainscoting on the dining room and kitchen walls, vintage farmhouse sink, built in cupboards, the multi-room interior - there are many opportunities to capture that perfect shot. We love sharing this historic house and believe you will feel it's aura inspire you. Past commercials/photo shoots in our home include: Heinz Ketchup, The American Heart Association, Walmart, Children's Memorial Hospital, Ragu Pasta Sauce, Advocate Health System, Blue Cross, Splenda, The Greater Chicago Food Depository and more. Enhanced Health and Safety Measures
Enhanced cleaning measures:
  • Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning
  • A licensed professional cleaner is hired between bookings
  • Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
  • High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
  • The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
  • Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
  • Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
  • Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.
The following equipment is provided for every guest:

  • Disposable gloves

I am overly pleased to say, the host was absoluteyl amazing and accomodating. When I had a question regarding Mary's community and the policies her community requires to film in her neighborhood, she informed me of all the necessary information I would need and them some. This was very helpful since I was travelling to Chicago and not familiar with the area. The Vintage Funky Home was a great location for my project and each room was clean, in great order and the nictacts around the house were amazing background items for my composition. If you are planning to film in Chicago, I HIGHLY recommend you book with Mary. I promise, you will not be disappointed.

Mary was warm and communicative throughout the planning process -- quick to respond to questions and resourceful. On the day of our shoot, she even brewed coffee for our crew - so sweet! The home was the perfect setting for our photoshoot. We are obsessed with her backyard!
