Enhanced COVID-19 Health & Safety Measures

In addition to our regular cleaning procedures, we have implemented the following measures: Regular cleaning with disinfectant on surfaces such as door handles, faucets, and seat cushions. Added hand sanitizing stations for audiences and staff. Posted informational signage showing proper hand washing technique in restrooms. Hired a professional cleaning service for additional deep-cleans. All staff and performers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. All in-person performances and events will be at reduced capacity. All staff and audience members (age 3+) will be masked at all times while indoors. No eating or drinking is allowed inside the theater or lobby during public open hours. Extra masks and hand sanitizer are available for all guests. Facilities are cleaned daily.

Enhanced cleaning measures:

The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
A licensed professional cleaner is hired between bookings

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

About the Space

Theatrical productions, music presentations, films, rehearsals, and more are some of the ways that groups have creatively used the theater space. Located on the ground floor of a National Historic Register building in Brookline Village. Amenities: - Intimate proscenium style stage in a beautiful brick-walled theater. - Small cabaret-style stage platform (approximately 15' wide x 11' deep with a 10' ceiling) with attractive red curtains - Very basic, 5 instrument lighting system. - 100 person capacity; but seats 80 comfortably - Seating in the theater is on wooden benches that have backs and pads. Since the space is primarily used to present children's puppet theater, the benches in the front of the theater have very short legs. - Wifi - Street Level Access - Lobby - Restrooms - Public Transportation Access - Wheelchair Accessible There is no in-house sound system; renters are welcome to bring their own. Parking description

Puppet Showplace Theater is conveniently located directly across the street from the Brookline Village T stop on the Green Riverside "D" Line. Parking is nearby at meters on the street (free after 6 PM) or in the parking garage at Brookline Place on Route 9 (on the other side of the subway tracks).

General Rules

Set-up and clean-up are the responsibility of the renter. The theater is located in a building with residential condominiums directly upstairs. For that reason we do not rent to groups presenting very loud activities, or shows that will continue past about 11 PM. No food or drink is allowed in the theater, but guests may consume food and beverages in the lobby (included in the rental).
