PLEASE READ IN ADVANCE: Kindly do not inquire about gatherings with more than 25 guests. No, I do not allow 125 for parties... ever. My rules clearly state that the max is 25. Located on the Virginia Beach/Norfolk border, this 4,000sf 1962 restored Mid-Century Modern lakefront space has hosted many hundreds of events over the past eight years. Combine a bit of Mad Men and the Rat Pack with Frank Lloyd Wright. Our gatherings include: baby showers; birthday parties; business showcases; reunions; bachelorette celebrations; performances, gaming, pop-ups, retirement parties; women’s and yoga retreats; and business off-sites... There are limitless options to customize this creative, flexible and expansive space… indoors and outdoors. PLEASE READ IN ADVANCE!! BOUTIQUE EVENTS ONLY! Wiseacre now only hosts events with a maximum of 25 guests. Please note: Your rental time must include set-up, breakdown and clean-up among billable hours. AMENITIES * Inside: Ballroom-size great room (650sf, 20’ ceilings) with panoramic lake views; adjoining dining room w/10-foot table; and adjoining wet bar; guest bath; spacious all-season porch with additional wet bar. * Gourmet kitchen with full use of convection oven/gas range, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, commercial icemaker. Outdoor gas grill. * Outside: 2 acres of private landscaped grounds. Spectacular Lake Whitehurst views on 3 sides. Large patio off porch; separate terrace off dining room. * Limitless free parking in front, with private driveway. Parking attendant available. * Experienced, easygoing host, with 35+ years in the entertainment industry. Here to help make your event a smashing success. * Natural beauty, space to breathe, elegance with playful charm, privacy. PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, Wiseacre no longer hosts receptions and weddings. We offer space for a maximum of 25 guests. HOUSE RULES * Please note: Hot tub is not available for Peerspace guests. * No balloons with gold/silver discs inside the balloons! * No tents with spikes are allowed on the property. * All vendors must be discussed in advance of your arrival. Vendors are included in the total number of guests. * Full hour chargeback after 15-minute grace period.

Enhanced Health and Safety Measures
Enhanced cleaning measures:
  • The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
  • High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
  • Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
  • Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning
All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
  • Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
  • Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
  • Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.
The following equipment is provided for every guest:
  • Disinfecting wipes or spray and paper towels
  • Disposable masks / face coverings
  • Hand Sanitizer
The space has the following features:
  • Space has access to outdoor air ventilation
  • Space has HEPA-certified air filters
  • Space has additional space outdoors
  • Space has been reconfigured to allow for physical distance

Yes, I would book again.

Picturesque and breathtaking space. The house is beautiful and the space outside is open and the lake is right there for an added touch. Chuck is absolutely amazing. He is the hostess with the mostess!!! Hospitable, dependable, and kind. The space and service is exactly as described and even better in person. He helped make our Anniversary party picture perfect. Can’t wait to come back and enjoy it again in the future.

We held our annual staff retreat today at this absolutely beautiful venue. Our host, Chuck, was awesome. Super easy to work with and his house is incredibly eclectic with beautiful art and memorabilia every where....and homey at the same time. We will definitely book again! Thank you Chuck for your genuine hospitality and upbeat attitude. 5 stars is really not enough!

I always have an amazing time coming to the Mid Century Modern Estate! Mr Chuck is the best host!! He opened his doors for me and my team to come in and do some promo and interview videos!! He even helped out with the interview by asking me “where do I see myself in 5 years as far as my artistry is concerned” We will definitely be coming back

My experience at the MidCentury Modern Estate/Lakefront was absolutely amazing! Such a beautiful home and the host Mr Chuck is one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met! It was an honor to meet him! If you don’t know him, he is a LEGEND!!! His property was so neat and clean! The house is spacious and creative! Gives music artists like myself room to explore and work! I will definitely be returning to the MidCentury modern estate for a album release party and/or music video

The setting was pure perfection for our graduation brunch. Chuck is always the consummate host, ready with a pair of scissors or extra tablecloth as needed (we needed both!). The grounds are so large that guests can wander and we had set out yard games, corn hole and bocce, for everyone to take advantage of the expansive waterfront space. INCREDIBLE for photos... just can't be beat. Highly recommend for intimate gatherings of distinction!
