Hello! We can’t wait to see what you create here! My name is Diana (or “deej”) and I manage The Gem. Renée is the on site host, and she lives at The Gem. She put this space together as a refuge for herself during the pandemic, but the lighting was so good she just HAD to share it. The bed will be cleared of personal bedding before your arrival. A fresh white fitted sheet will be provided on the queen sized bed. You’re welcome to bring any other sheets, bedding, props, etc that you’d like to set the mood for your meeting/event. The plants live here too. They are her loves and they are happy to be included in your art. But they are real and they are fragile. Some of them are valued at around $500 and we do not want to charge for their replacement. If you’d like them moved or adjusted Renée is more than happy to do that for you. Most things here are custom and/or vintage and are not directly replaceable, therefore, please keep all food, drinks and water bottles in the kitchen. No exceptions. Any makeup or hair products brought into the space are welcome in the salon area, if you’ve booked it. Otherwise, please leave those items at home, and have your models arrive ready to shoot. Renée tries to be as accommodating as possible for your creativity and your client needs. This is a cannabis friendly space. Please let Renée know if you’d like to do any artsy smoke shots so we can navigate that together in a way that doesn’t result in fees. We have step stools, ladders, and a ring light for your use as well, please let me know upon booking if you’d like them pulled out for use. The green folding chairs hanging by the front door are also for your use. Please don’t try to close them. They are vintage tricky lil suckers so just leave their closing to Renée. No worries. Opening them is straightforward, just make sure the hook underneath the seat latches into place. Please feel free to use the curtains to control the light and style. If you open or close windows just be aware that they are *old*, quirky, and very very heavy. Transparency always wins! Shit happens- If something is damaged or sullied in some way PLEASE let Renée or I know. We are very understanding and value honesty. If you are straightforward about it, we can figure it out together. We love BTS photos/videos and seeing social media tags. If you can share final images of the work you create here, we’d love to see those too! Thank you so much for appreciating the aesthetic that we’ve worked so hard to create here.
