History of the space Pillars’ Castle was built in the 1920s by renowned sculptor C. Adrian Pillars. As a sculptor there were no blueprints of the castle, merely a sculpture for the builders to guide them. No nails were used in the Moorish Revival architectural wonder. When the Depression hit it 1929 , no one was commissioning sculptures and Pillars lost the Castle and became homeless with his wife and 3 children. They spent 3 years living on Strawberry Creek in Jacksonville until the economy started to return and he was hired as the Art Director of Ringling Bros. Circus in Sarasota. His statues still stand today in many parks and in the US Capital building.
