About the Space

We are a professionally run photo rental studio stocked with equipment, props, and have three tall windows that provide breathtaking morning harsh light. The historic building is the 11th oldest in Houston & located in downtown, just off Main & Commerce. We are located on the second floor with windows facing South East for stunning morning light. Nearby attractions are walking distance so you can split up your shoot for some colorful, urban set shots at Market Sq. Park, the Metro Rail, historic bars off Main or colorful local street art before or after your reservation. We have a nice, clean white wall & open brick area for natural light shots & multiple areas & nooks for different looks or textures for your photo shoot. This includes a nice, sleek modern vanity area, a consult seating area for your clients, a fitting room, a movable clothing rack, restroom & a fridge. We also are fond of vintage props, so there are an abundance of unique items around the space we encourage for use as well. Metered city street parking is the best route for parking & there are usually many spots available that are less than 1 minute walk. There is a commercial parking space off the corner of Main & Commerce for loading in and out nearby. We also have a cart on site you can utilize for any items you need to bring in. Be sure to include setting up and breaking down within your reservation time. We are home to some of Houstons top photographers & welcome other professionals to make the best of our space & it's breathtaking, natural light as well as our incredible central location off historic Houston's Main St. downtown.

Parking description

You can usually find city metered street parking off Commerce & Main St. It is the closest intersection & only about a one minute walk. We recommend parking either in front of McIntyre’s (the old Spaghetti Warehouse) in the street on either side of Commerce or next to UHD off Commerce. if you are booking less than 3 hours, be mindful that 3 hours is the max before you have to move your vehicle to a different parking meter, so if you plan on staying downtown longer than 3 hours, we recommend parking in the private lot (SP Plus Parking Lot) behind McIntyre's. You must pay by text. Although anywhere downtown will do, if you are up for a stroll & want to snap some photos before or after your booking! Reminder that metered Houston street parking is free after 6pm and all day Sundays! 🚗📍

Lighting description

Harsh, bright light is typical in the mornings & then nicely diffused all afternoon until sundown. We have 4 v-flats (2 white, 2 black) to block out any subject light, as well as curtains that can be put on the windows with prior notice.

Space is not soundproof

Ambient noise description

We are located in the heart of North downtown off busy Main St. There is no sound proof walls, and you can hear the hustle and bustle of the metro rail in front off Main St. as well as the occasional neighboring businesses. We also have a google bluetooth speaker for music during your visit!

There is a loading commercial zone/area off Main & Commerce for loading in and out & elevator. Please text prior to arriving for the code to use the elevator.

Some rooms are off-limits for shooting

The emergency exit stairs and the main community stair wells and halls are off limits for shooting.

Shooting the exterior of the building is allowed

Electrical system description

The breakers is near the windows and a manager is always on site to assist for any electrical issues.

Circuit breaker can be accessed

General Rules

No more than 8 people on set at one time unless approved by management prior to booking. No nudity or boudoir unless approved by management prior to booking. No smoking in the building. No food allowed other than the bar/consult area. No alcohol of any kind is permitted. No fireworks, open flames, candles, smoke machines etc. No abnormally loud music that can be heard outside the walls of the space. No glitter, confetti, body oils, smoke bombs allowed. This includes glitter on props or clothing, so please let your clients know prior to booking. We now allow music videos, but details are required prior to booking. No screaming or disturbance that can be heard outside the space walls. We are a professional environment with professional photography equipment & props, so please no children or pets running/ playing etc. Must have an adult accompanied at all times. No dragging furniture. We allow only bookings that are solely photo/video related.

Furniture and decorations may be moved

Furniture can be moved around the space, but not out. If anything is taken off the walls or moved about, the space needs to look the same as it did when the client walked in prior to them leaving.

No smoke machines allowed

Security cameras and recording devices

There are multiple security cameras in and around the space with the exception of the fitting room and restroom area.

Recording devices in bathrooms or dressing rooms are prohibited by the Peerspace Services Agreement.

Health and Safety Measures

We have a studio rep on site during all reservations to maintain cleanliness before and after bookings.

Enhanced cleaning measures:

The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

The following equipment is provided for every guest:

Disinfecting wipes or spray and paper towels
Hand Sanitizer

There are ample props (chairs, couches, stools) and a wide variety of backdrops (brick wall, white, black, grey, blue, yellow). You can create a ton of interesting looks in this space.
