COVID-19 Health & Safety Measures

We have a professional cleaner who comes in between stays. She is very capable and follows all CDC guidelines for cleansing.

Enhanced cleaning measures:

The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
A licensed professional cleaner is hired between bookings
Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

The following equipment is provided for every guest:

Disinfecting wipes or spray and paper towels
Disposable gloves
Disposable masks / face coverings
Hand Sanitizer

The space has the following features:

About the Space

Backyard garden space with edible fruits and vegetables (seasonally), dog-friendly, and grill/bar-b-que ready. A small wedding and many parties have been hosted in this space. Additional features include 120sq ft covered awning, outdoor table and seating, large patio umbrella, patio seating, hammock, 6-burner grill, and fire pit. FAQ #1 - Is the neighborhood safe? Answer- "Fair question given Brownsville's reputation, but like NYC as a whole can have a bad reputation unfairly, that is particularly true about Brownsville. This block in particular is very very safe. Geographically, we're actually at the intersection of East Flatbush, Crown Heights, and Brownsville -> walk 5 minutes and you can be in any of these three neighborhoods. Also very close to x3 train stops. This is the part of Brownsville filled with black homeowners who take good care of their homes and have high standards for the community. Our house and our story was featured in the NYtimes actually (I can send you a link or you can google me). I would argue this neighborhood is as safe as any BK neighborhood (especially versus Crown Heights and East Flatbush that are just a few blocks away). My wife and I have lived here for 4 years without issue. For 2 years she walked to work at AF Middle (before getting a promotion and moving to another school). I love the block, I'll never sell this house and look forward to passing it down as a generational wealth play. FAQ #2- Do you have tables and chairs for the outside space? Outside I have one fixed place table under the awning with chairs and ottomans, seats up to 8 (see photo in listing at the end,) and two folding tables 4ft by 2ft (see photo in listing at the end) you can use. I have additional seating outside (chairs, benches, and ottomans) for up to 18 total (including the 8 for the table). If you need for more than that to be seated simultaneously outside you would need to bring folding chairs (inside chairs are not to be brought outside). If you need help with folding chair rental, I can look into that for you.
