The limit of this space is your imagination. With nearly 3,000 square feet of flexible floor space the airy cafe would be great for a meeting, photoshoot or your next private event. With floor to ceiling west facing windows gorgeous sunlight streams directly into the cafe during the afternoon & early evening. The usual layout of the cafe has a cozy area with cushioned chairs, along with islands of tables, about half high-top, half low-top. These are easily moved around to accommodate your needs and vision. The space has a warm, inviting and calming vibe. Partly to thank do that is the large fiddle-fig palm plant in the middle of the space. Besides the tables, plenty of flat surfaces are build into the space - more that 10 ft long bar and an 8 ft long ledge off one of walls are the most prominent. The variety of walls are a unique aspect of our cafe. This building used to be two separate ones, so there's a small wall with two different types of exposed brick on either side that make for a beautiful photograph background. Nature-inspired wallpaper is the backdrop for the bar area. Other walls have natural wood paneling and drywall painted in mellow earthy colors. Natural wood floors throughout (except entry way and bathrooms.) Two sizable individual bathrooms make the space more comfortable for groups. There is a changing table in one one bathroom. A small kids area is also part of the normal cafe layout. Just like table and chairs, this area could be expanded or totally taken down based upon your needs. A few quirks should be noted: The cafe is immediately next to a busy street, so silence is never guaranteed and trucks or busses can interrupt the natural sunlight very momentarily. There are logo decals on the windows as well that cast unique shadows in the late afternoon and evening There is a small ridge across the space (where the two buildings meet,) so while the square footage is large and open, you probably would want to pick one side or the other for a dance floor. Finally, there is a back area of the cafe where tea is made that is separated by a hallway and curtained. This is not part of the space rental, however you will likely get the perk of the cafe smelling faintly of herbs. Street parking is in good supply. It is usually easy to pull up right in front of the cafe for a short distance to load in and out. Parking closest to the cafe has a 2 hr parking limit Monday-Saturday from 7am-7pm. Opposite side street parking is available. The parking lot across the street does not belong to us, so it would be a park-at-your-own-risk situation. While the location of the cafe is not in a destination neighborhood in Milwaukee, there are a couple restaurants and a grocery store in walking distance. It is a working-class urban area.

Megan S. booked a rehearsal dinner for 44 people
We booked this space for our wedding rehearsal dinner, held on March 17th 2023. I booked a couple months in advance — and communication was very quick and very helpful throughout that entire duration of time. Emily was super communicative and eager to help us create the perfect rehearsal dinner night with our family and friends — super accommodating and flexible. Once we arrived, Emily was there waiting to welcome us and make sure everything was settled. From that point, we brought in our food and drinks and had a truly, truly wonderful evening! The layout was really helpful for our group, and everyone felt super comfortable — lots of compliments from the fam on the space! Everything went great, and it was helpful to be able to use some of the cafe's utensils, too. At the end of the night, Nick swung by to make sure our night went well and to help us clean up. So kind of him! As stressful as wedding planning had been leading up to that point, Emily and Nick and Urbal Tea Cafe really did make our rehearsal dinner evening smooth and enjoyable, and set the stage for a beautiful wedding day after. It was such a terrific night, I almost wish we had another event/dinner to plan coming up so we could book there again! ;) All that being said, I would highly, highly recommend booking this space! Emily and Nick were a joy to work with — my new husband and I greatly appreciate your help in carrying out a successful rehearsal dinner!
Sean B. booked a photo shoot for 4 people
We couldn't be more happy with this hip location. It's all about the light and the ambiance of the natural rich honey colored woods, original exposed brick, carefully curated color schemes on the walls and furniture. There is the cafe section with all of the clean shiny stainless equipment with a touch of comfortable home vibe in one of the nooks. Superb for any photographer. Plus, our host was super cool with us. -Sean B.
Nicole C. booked a bridal shower for 30 people
Hosted a last minute bridal shower and had limited time to find a event space fast- but boy did it work to our advantage. Found Urbal Tea on Peerspace and the experience was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Stopped in to Urbal Tea during business hours and Emily graciously answered all our questions and they were able to accommodate our last minute request. The day of, Nick greeted us and welcomed us into the lovely space: beautiful decor, light-filled with versatile room and seating options. We whole-heartedly recommend this spot to those looking for an intimate, spectacular place to have an event. We will be returning, not only as customers to the Urbal Tea shop, but also for future celebrations. Thank you Emily and Nick. We were definitely impressed and the bride-to-be and all her guests could not stop raving about your venue! Absolutely perfect!!
