About the Space

Welcome to Este Lugar Studios 🤲🏾. If you're searching for that idyllic, loft style photo studio, look no further. This large open space is amazing for portrait photo shoots, furniture shoots, and simple video shoots. (e.g. interviews). The loft windows bring in incredible natural light, allowing for a lot of flexibility. The space is equipped with two C-stands, and two collapsable light reflectors, and two backdrops (for a $10 fee). There is also a freight elevator for any heavy equipment. There are also blackout curtains if you do not prefer the natural light. We're excited to have you! Bonus: I also roast my own coffee and offer a complimentary espresso beverage 😄☕️ ⛔️ The space is not a great fit for large parties, music videos, large events ⛔️

Parking description

There are roughly 30 parking spots in the onsite parking lot. The spots are first come, first serve. Generally there are about 5 open spots at any given time. Alternatively, there is Street Parking available on Adeline Street.

Lighting description

East facing large loft windows bring in a lot of natural light, throughout most of the day. Approximate light schedule: -from 8:30am to 11:30am you get strong direct light -from 11:30-5:00pm is balanced/soft natural light. -You can control the light with blackout curtains and provided light reflectors.

Space is not soundproof

Ambient noise description

West Oakland is relatively quiet, but the location is on Grand Ave, so you will occasionally hear cars driving by. Overall, no disruptive sounds!

General Rules

House Rules: -NO KIDS -No smoking in the building -No alcohol allowed after 8pm -No groups over 8 people. -Outside catering is allowed (required to clean catered food) -Please ask if you need to use anything outside of the designated Studio space -I also live here so I ask you to please respect the space and do not touch anything outside of the Studio space :)

Enhanced Health and Safety Measures

I configured the booking availability to have no more than 2 bookings per day, which limits the amount of people who enter the space. I provide hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, and paper towel for guests. This is a large open space which allows for people to maintain a safe distance. All common surfaces will be cleaned before the next guess visits.

Enhanced cleaning measures:

Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning
The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

The following equipment is provided for every guest:

Disinfecting wipes or spray and paper towels
Hand Sanitizer
Disposable gloves
Disposable masks / face coverings

The space has the following features:

Capacity is limited based on governmental guidelines
Space has access to outdoor air ventilation

The space has informational signage including:
