Summer Lighting FAQ: With soft diffused eastern light from Morning to Dusk our space offers filtered light and direct light throughout the day which can be controlled and adjusted with our blinds. Bright Direct Sunlight begins 8AM - 11AM Soft Natural Sunlight begins 11:30AM - 3PM Prime Time Lighting begins 3PM - 5PM

Videography + Bookings with sound recordings are recommended to book as early as possible to avoid other business operations disrupting content. AC runs until the end of September in summer months, however the studio maintains a cool natural temperature and is not necessarily needed.

Stairs, Freight Elevator

There is a loading zone for equipment into the freight elevator in the back alley behind Halsted St. This zone is for load in and load out only, parking is not permitted. 1 Dolly is available onsite for larger pieces of equipment, large quantity of bags. Load In/Load Out items that require the Freight Elevator are only permitted elevator use with the Studio Director. Use of the Freight Elevator without Studio Director is prohibited.

Our Dining Room + Entry area can be used to setup hair, makeup, extra equipment, clothing, etc for your shoot and is easily out of the main shots and desired shooting areas within the studio.

STUDIO POLICIES The following are prohibited at Studio Sunset Chicago: Fire, Candles, Incense, Smoking, Vaping, Smoke Machines, Pets, Glitter, Smoke Bombs, Cake Smash Sessions, Adhering any items to the walls(nails,pins,etc.), Anything that will stain the floors, walls, furniture, Nudity, Pornography. Food or beverage consumption in the Living Room Area. Shoes + Stainable Substances: No shoes, makeup, body oils, lotions, or liquids are permitted on any of the furniture or rugs. We pride ourselves on the pristine condition of our studio + its furnishings. Any substances that leave a stain during a booking time slot will be charged for full damages. Please review the damage policy below. Noise: No loud music or music video productions, please be respectful of the surrounding businesses in the building. Furniture Layout: Permission MUST be obtained to move furniture. Our furniture is highly valuable and any damage caused will result in charges for replacement purchase and other package and shipping costs. Food + Drinks: No consumption of food or beverage in the living room areas of the studio unless for content purposes only. No consumption of Alcohol is permitted. Studio Layout: Please leave the studio space exactly as you found it, each booking must clean up after themselves after and return the studio to the condition it was received in. All studio occupants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times throughout the booked session. Security Camera Our security camera is vital in protecting our space and boutique furnishings, any booking that moves, disarms, or tampers with the studio’s security camera will result in a negative review, immediate cancellation of the booking, and immediate removal from the space. If you do not feel comfortable in the space with a security camera then please do not book. A private restroom is available as a changing area for all bookings. Booking Timeslot: Please note that your booking starts at the agreed upon start time and ends at the agreed upon end time, this should include all setup and breakdown. Any use of the space prior to or after your agreed upon booking time will result in additional booking charges. Early Arrival: Please note that early arrival and entry into the studio is not permitted. If you or any of your guests arrive early you will be asked to wait in the lobby entrance until the beginning of your booking time slot. Overtime Policy: It is imperative that each booking adheres to their agreed upon booking timeslot. Overtime charges are charged 10 Minutes into the next half hour and billed in 30 minute increments. You are responsible for monitoring and managing your timeline. Cancellation Policy: In accordance with Peerspace Cancellation policy, all studio bookings cancelled within less than 24 hours of scheduled booking are non refundable. Please refer to Peerspace for all additional cancellation and refund information. Rescheduling: Please note at this time we do not accept rescheduling requests, by booking your time slot we are committing our time and resources to ensuring the studio is ready for your booking. Any guests unable to attend their booking can refer to Peerspace's cancellation policy in regards to refunds, etc. Nudity Policy: As stated in our Peerspace Profile any production of Pornography or explicit videography or photography is prohibited and will result in a negative review, immediate termination of the booking, as well as removal from the space. Damages: Please note that our furniture is expensive and vital to our livelihood as a Studio + Business. Any stains or damages incurred during a booking time slot will be responsible for all cleaning, repair, or replacement + shipping costs of the item in question. If any damage is to occur all cleaning,damage, and/or replacement costs will be pursued. Radiators + Heating: As part of a vintage building, our lofts heating system operates through steam radiators. Please note that the radiators and pipes get extremely hot and to proceed with caution and to not touch while shooting and in the space.
