About the Space
IMPORTANT: Please request at least 24 hours in advance of your start time. While we'd love to host everyone, we are unable to make this an instant booking space. We will review your booking and ask a few questions regarding size and noise levels before accepting. We are able to host nearly all of our requests and look forward to hosting you! Book on the weekend for a discounted rate! This cozy, picturesque property and cottage in the hills of Silver Lake is an artist’s, writer’s, or tradesperson’s dream. Perched on a hillside property overlooking Fountain Avenue, this space offers the perfect setting for all types of production, and can serve as its own inspiration for you to work, write, paint, tinker, make music, or simply escape the city. Surrounded by quaint yet lush landscaping, walkways, fruit trees, and a hand-built 70+ year-old cave that is rumored to be designed by Disney contractors. The property was one of the first developed lots in the historic Moreno Highlands tract of Silver Lake. Ample natural light - particularly in the afternoon to evening - bathe the surroundings in a warm, tree-filtered glow. The structure was built ca. 1940s, but has been structurally retrofitted and furnished as a creative’s paradise. The space is stocked with ample tools, fixtures, storage, and amenities, but depending on the length of the booking, can be delivered almost entirely unfurnished if so desired (ask for further details). We encourage you to adapt the space as much or as little as needed to meet your specific needs - come make it your own creative haven! [Please note: The workshop space is constantly evolving, and has adapted and been modified to suit the needs of its diversely talented users. If you see a particular prop or feature in a photo that you want for your booking—and it isn’t mentioned in the description—please reach out to us so we can confirm whether it is still available, and if so, ensure that we have it ready for you. [Also note that the space is not handicap accessible, and it is shared with four full-time residents] While we review everything on a case-by-case basis, we prioritize photo shoots of all sizes and film shoots with 6 or less people. If your shoot falls outside this restriction, please still get in touch with the details and we will review! We also cannot host any productions that involve excessive noise like yelling. Health and Safety Measures
- High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
- The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
- Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
- Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
- Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
