About the Space
Our eclectic bohemian modern Cape Cod oasis with swimming pool and large deck is located on the tree-lined streets of the elegant and established East Moreland neighborhood - one block from the entrance to the Tideman Johnson Natural Area and the Springwater Corridor trail and a few blocks up the hill from the East Moreland Golf Course. With an abundance of natural light in every room and a spacious open floor plan, our home has been the perfect spot for filming and photo shoots. The house has been designed and furnished with an artful eye and attention to every unique detail - it has been referred to as an “experience”, rather than just a house. We have found it to also be a wonderful location for off-site staff meetings / staff retreat days - see our first review. (If you have more than 10 people, but not greater than 20 - please feel free to still inquire!) We dismantled this house, inside and out, down to the studs and rebuilt it with so much love and care. We incorporated ideas from all of the vacation spots that we have loved and visited together over the years - inspiration from Woodstock NY, Mendocino Big Sur & Laurel Canyon, Scandinavia and the islands of the Puget Sound. The 2241 square feet includes a spacious main level with large custom kitchen and open dining room with a fireplace, striking entry with stunning custom bookshelves that opens into a living space that features fir ceilings and a large Noguchi pendant light with a wall of windows/doors that lead out to the covered deck (with cozy furniture, outdoor speakers and a standing propane heater) and inground swimming pool. Our home is situated on a double corner lot, so there is always ample parking available. The Sellwood and Woodstock neighborhoods are each a mile away, downtown is about a 15 minute drive and it is also an easy walk to the beautiful campus of Reed College. Home is EVERYTHING to us and you can sense it the minute you enter our glass front doors. If you’re looking for a magical Shangri-La of a location that is stunning, light-filled, interesting and modern, yet somehow still homey and cozy…this is it!

I rented Darcy’s space for our 2 day photo shoot for pair of thieves and I haven’t experienced a more seamless location rental in my many years in the production world. FANTASTIC experience!! The place was perfect for our staff gathering. Our team of 10 needed to get out of the office and this home gave us an opportunity to meet, bond, play, and create. There are multiple amazing spaces and each one invites you into peace, natural light, and coziness. Darcy and her family have made this a gorgeous retreat and my staff are already talking about when to come back! As each of them came in the door, they giggled with delight and could not believe all the little touches that makes this space so special. We had everything we needed from the Bluetooth music and indoor/outdoor speakers to the climate control settings inside to the heated pool and pool towels, along with an incredible kitchen stocked with dishes, utensils, coffeemaker, serving items, dishwasher, ice, and huge oven with gas stovetop. We had brunch, went swimming, and got the work we needed to do - done. It was such a special experience. We're so thankful for an alternative to a conference room. This blew us away and gave us just what we needed as a team - rest and relaxation while connecting, feasting, and moving into the next season of our contributions together. If you need a team getaway for your office or staff, this is your haven. Hosts are wonderfully communicative and responsive. The pictures are gorgeous but being in the space is absolutely magical! This is soon to be a favorite in Portland!
