Motive is an easy choice for photographers and creatives looking for an amazing space to take photos and videos. Motive primarily operates as a photo studio rental and is equipped with industry-standard production equipment including a built-in top-down system perfect for product flat-lays, paper backdrops, props, furniture, and unique decor. Our in-house team utilizes high-end production equipment and is also capable of producing photo & video content in a multitude of styles. We hope to provide you with the best possible service Kansas City has to offer for your booking! We operate a rentable photo studio in a historic building. This building is nearly 120 years old and built of heavy timber and brick. Inside our space and the entire building, the ceiling's wooden beams are exposed on all floors as well as historic brick causing dust and small debris to fall that cannot be avoided. Anyone who has lived with exposed brick or large timber beams understands that dust and debris can accumulate in spaces that are not routinely traveled, or behind immovable objects such as beds, cabinets, etc. We are absolutely willing to clean the space for an additional fee if dust and small debris is an issue.

- The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
- High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
- Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
- A licensed professional cleaner is hired between bookings
- Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning
- Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
- Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
- Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
- Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.
- Disinfecting wipes or spray and paper towels

Booked this space twice in one week. Its comfortable and clean. My clients were really impressed with it which is great. The rate is great for it as well. There is a code to get into the space. Both times that code was delivered 10 + minutes late which ate into some my rented time. My first booking I requested red and grey backdrops, but only white were pulled down when I arrived. I did not ask for a specific color the 2nd time. Both bookings the seamless paper backdrops had footprints on them which is not really a big deal so long as the host is aware ahead of time. This is overall a great space for its cost and I plan to book again in the future. My hope is some of these organizational issues get ironed out.

Love the space. Only thing I’d like to mention is the circular rug by the window is weirdly lifting in the center and could be a tripping hazard.

I loved using this studio to do some self portraits for my birthday. There was sooo much natural light!! And I loved how simply beautiful the studio is. I can't wait to rent it again!
