Unique one family home in historic Weehawken NJ, built in 1903 by a ship captain. You enter through a large patio running the full width of the house, and set up with a dining room and a living room area. Beautiful original wood single paned crossbar windows line the entire exterior of the patio and bring lots of light. This space is not heated or air conditioned so is ideal for use in the fall and spring. The design of the main floor allows you to embrace all the rooms in one glance. Original wood paneling and other features have been preserved in living areas. Main floor features 3 large rooms each with a unique fireplace: 1 gigantic stone fireplace in the main room, one uniquely wood-framed gas fireplace and a non functioning wood and tile fireplace in the other 2. The main floor has 10-foot ceilings throughout and beautiful original carved wooden archways in between rooms. Large kitchen at the back, renovated in 2005. You access the second floor through a majestic large original staircase. That floor features 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, all very different. Each room has a unique shape, one mostly circular, others more triangular with unique angles, and the 2 most recently renovated more traditional (almost) rectangular. Both bathrooms have been renovated, the second one in 2021. The third floor was renovated in 2006 and is reminiscent of a cabin, with wood paneling on most walls and ceiling. It includes a small bathroom and a large but basic kitchen, and is set up as a large master bedroom, a guest room and an office. It can be accessed through the main house and also has a separate entrance if needed. The house is built on 5 lots, has a large fully fenced-in yard with an outdoor pool and a pool shed, a courtyard at the back and a detached 2-car garage at the end of the driveway.
