About Fly High Studio
This studio is 600 sqft sun-soaked industrial corner loft in Brooklyn, NY. Creative photo/video and art studio specializing in editorial portraiture and product photography. The space features 12-ft ceilings, a small dining and living area, and a bathroom with photo and lighting equipment available. Windows: The loft has10 ft tall south-facing windows, providing gorgeous light in the day. Bathroom: the in-loft bathroom is perfect for privacy and wardrobe changes. The studio features a table for hair and makeup needs, mirror, a clothing rack, a steamer, a scale and a storage table Backdrops: We have various unique hand-painted canvas backdrops available for use. Dark grey, Baby Blue, Terracotta and color gradients. Equipment included in rental: Light: x1 Profoto D2 1000Ws AirTTL Monolight x1 Profoto b3 battery with ProHead Soft Box & Reflectors: 1x Octa Softbox 120cm (47.2"). 2x Photek umbrellas (Medium) 2x C-Stands w/ boom arm + grip head (matte black) 2x 11' rolling stands (typically in use for backdrops) 4x V-Flats 3x apple boxes (dark blue) 7x Sandbags 3x A-Clamps, Accessibility: Studio is on the 2th floor, accessible by freight elevator.

- Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

I booked this space for a make-your-own pizza party and the space was lovely and all of my guests complimented it. Maku was helpful with showing us around and being honest about what she expected from the night. She does stay in the space upstairs but doesn't interfere and is easily accessible for questions. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything you'd need to have a dinner (aside from ingredients) and everything was great.

MISLEADING We booked this space to celebrate my birthday. We did not know that the host was going to be inside the space with us the entire time, and was only informed of this upon arriving to the space. This was not mentioned in any segment of the booking details, nor was it disclosed when discussing the space with her. She told us she will be on the upper level the entire time and that we "won't even know she is there", but kept coming down into our party repeatedly. At 10pm she began to come down almost every 20 minutes to tell us to be more quiet because her friend was her neighbor and she didn't want to upset her. In the booking details and prior conversations, she said noise is not an issue as we are celebrating and playing games. It was also a Saturday night and NYC noise rules do not go into effect until 1AM. We paid a $120 cleaning fee, but at the end of the night we still cleaned up after ourselves to be considerate, but she then asked for us to take all the garbage bags down into a dumpster around the corner. Her negativity distracted a lot from our night and if these details were provided upon booking such as quiet hours or her constant roaming presence, we would not have booked this space. We told her up front that we'd like a space for a birthday where we can play music, dance, and celebrate. She should not have agreed that this space can host this kind of event and taken our money if she felt otherwise.
