About the Space

Located on the corner of West 7th Street and Lavaca in the heart of Downtown Austin, this unfinished studio space sits on the first floor of the York Rite Masonic Temple. Part music venue, part lounge, part workshop - this large open creative space is great for podcast recording, video shoots, photoshoots, or private events. The space can accommodate 70-75 guests, standing room only. The furniture can be moved and configured in various ways. No additional furniture is provided beyond what is shown in the photos. Furniture may be rented or otherwise brought in. One visit to the space is provided free of charge. Please ask about Green room space, clothing racks, and changing area available across the hall from the space in same building. Recording and AV services are available for additional cost. Restrooms are located down the hall.

Parking description

Street parking recommended. Parking includes paid street parking on the surrounding blocks through the ParkATX App or kiosks. Paid garage parking is also available. Monday after 4PM street parking is free. There is a loading zone on the street.

Lighting description

Windows facing 7th street - curtains available for all windows. The space is moderately bright during the day but can be darkened significantly with the curtains (see photos). At night the space is quite dark.

Space is not soundproof

Ambient noise description

The space has been used for recording audio on multiple occasions; however it is not soundproof and sound from 7th Street can be heard from time to time.

Health and Safety Measures

We clean and disinfect hard surfaces in between bookings.

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.
