The S-A-L-T (Sea-Air-Land-Tower) House<\/a> is a study in opposing forces. This industrial building was originally constructed in 1972 to transmit long-distance phone calls and television signals across the country. Since then, designers John Jennings and Sasha Tarnopolsky have explored the push and pull of brutality and fragility, balancing the space\u2019s 36\u201d thick concrete walls with live plants and floods of natural light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
