Two hours north of New York City, tucked into the rolling hills of New England, sits a home  plucked straight from the English countryside. Argyll House<\/a> is more than just a beautiful property\u2014it’s a carefully curated world where history meets whimsy and where creatives find the perfect canvas for their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designed by emerging architect and Peerspace host Deirdre McMullen<\/a>, this Cotswold-style estate has become a highly sought-after location for photoshoots, film projects, and creative campaigns. From Kith’s tennis-inspired collaboration with Wilson<\/a> to STAUB\u2019s summer garden party spread<\/a>, brands are discovering what makes this space so special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When McMullen and her family purchased Argyll House in 2021, the property had good bones but needed an infusion of soul. The existing interiors leaned heavily into beige neutrals, missing the character that the home’s architecture deserved. Drawing inspiration from celebrated English designers, McMullen\u2019s design vision proved to be both spontaneous and refined. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result? A gorgeous blend of vintage Danish, Italian, and French furnishings mixed with bold English prints. Throughout Argyll House, modern finds and thrifted art mingle with family heirlooms collected over generations. No two lamps match. No two window treatments are the same. Rare books and worldly artifacts are scattered throughout in easy, whimsical harmony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI looked to English designers like Rita Konig and Sarah Brown for inspiration, whose works layer color, pattern, and texture in ways that feel both surprising and refined. I challenged myself to find a similar balance \u2013 interiors that feel characterful and spontaneous yet true to the home\u2019s architectural tradition.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Argyll House offers incredible versatility without ever losing visual continuity, making it ideal for creative shoots that need multiple backdrops but want everything to feel cohesive. From the moment they step onto the gravel drive, guests are transported to the English countryside. The  stone exterior is framed by centuries-old walls dating back to the property’s days as a dairy farm. Down the gravel path, a giant red barn looks like it belongs in a fairytale, complete with a peaceful creek babbling nearby. Verdant gardens, a secluded pond, a saltwater pool, and tennis courts create an assortment of outdoor vignettes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside, the home offers equally diverse settings. The cathedral-ceiling great room features a stone fireplace, exposed beams, and built-in library shelves. The chef’s kitchen flows seamlessly into a brick patio with outdoor seating and a fire pit. Six romantic bedrooms each showcase unique collections of modern and antique furnishings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The variety of shoots Argyll House has hosted speaks volumes about its versatility. Each creative team finds their own way to interpret and use the space, demonstrating how great design creates endless possibilities. For Kith’s Wilson collaboration, their crew spread across the property to shoot against blooming rhododendrons, moss-covered stone walls, tennis courts, winding paths, and the home’s whimsical interiors<\/a>. Meanwhile, STAUB cookware\u2019s recent photo shoots took advantage of the serene, light-filled chef’s kitchen as well as an expansive outdoor teak table covered in flowering potted plants<\/a>. The house isn\u2019t just a backdrop\u2014it becomes part of every brand campaign shot there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most rewarding for McMullen? Watching each creative team utilize the home in their own way. “The range of photoshoot requests we’ve received has been really exciting\u2014spanning different industries, styles, and creative visions,” she shares. “It’s amazing to see how each team interprets the space in their own way.”
