The home on Martin\u2019s Point Plantation looked genuinely rundown in the movie. However, according to an article on Sciway<\/a>, the filmmakers decided to take another approach. \u201cThe filmmakers had considered finding a dilapidated house to film which they could then renovate as the narrative progressed. In the end, however, they settled on using a beautiful house they could make look run down for the film’s earlier scenes\u201d. With a little bit of movie magic, it really does seem like the production made an old house come back to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What about the beautiful plantation home that Annie\u2019s wealthy family owns? You may have been watching the film and wondered to yourself after seeing this amazing property, \u201cWhere is the house from \u2018The Notebook\u2019?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It turns out that the exterior shots of the Hamilton\u2019s mansion were also shot in South Carolina at the Boone Hall Plantation. Unlike the previous property, this one is actually open to the public so you can see it for yourself. According to an article in Southern Living: \u201cScenes of the exterior of Allie’s family’s summer house were filmed at the iconic Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant. The plantation, which has been a working farm for more than 300 years, is open to the public for tours\u2014you’ll recognize it instantly upon turning on to the mossy oak-lined driveway and seeing the iron gate in front of the house that Noah rams his truck into.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s unknown whether you\u2019re allowed to do any filming and photography inside of the Boone Hall Plantation.
