Georgia, Ginny, and Austin may well have taken off from Texas \u2014 but Massachusetts isn\u2019t where they ended up! Most of the \u201cGinny & Georgia\u201d filming location sets are actually in Canada. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sadly, this means Wellsbury, Massachusetts isn\u2019t a real place you can visit \u2014 but you can find a pretty similar-looking town in Ontario! The town of Cobourg, to be exact. Let\u2019s take a look at some of the specific Cobourg locations that are recognizable in the show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step into downtown Cobourg and you\u2019ll feel like you\u2019ll be in Wellsbury itself! Many of the \u201cGinny & Georgia\u201d filming location sets in season one are near Victoria Hall in downtown Cobourg. Even Victoria Hall itself doubles as Wellsbury\u2019s town hall (you may remember it as the backdrop for Wellsury\u2019s annual Halloween festival). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to make this quaint Canadian town feel a little more like Massachusetts and a little less like Canada, the crew traded out Canadian flags for American ones during filming and even changed the names of storefronts. You can see some of those changes highlighted in the Town of Cobourg\u2019s Instagram post<\/a> about the filming! Here are a few specific storefronts in Cobourg you may recognize from the show:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you end up visiting Cobourg, make sure to spend some time on King Street. You\u2019ll find plenty of \u201cGinny & Georgia\u201d filming location spaces there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, Audrey\u2019s In Town Fashion is an actual store that even kept its name for the show! You may also remember Wellsbury Savings from season 1 episode 9, which is the Bank of Montreal on King St. You’ll also find Cynthia\u2019s office on this adorable downtown street and of course, the Blue Farm Cafe!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Ginny were to actually take a job at the Blue Farm Cafe \u2014 she\u2019d more likely be serving Marcus burgers than coffee, black like his heart. That\u2019s because the Blue Farm Cafe is actually \u201cThe EL\u201d gastro pub<\/a> in downtown Cobourg. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their yummy menu includes everything from truffle fries and sauteed sriracha shrimp to spiced salmon and lamb shanks. Definitely worth a visit if you\u2019re in the area \u2014 even if Ginny isn\u2019t there to provide you \u201cservice with a smile.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>The Final Scenes Of \u201cGinny & Georgia\u201d Season 1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the final scenes of \u201cGinny & Georgia\u201d season one, Georgia is at the mayoral election party. This scene was shot using real fireworks at the Victoria Park Bandshell in Cobourg. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bandshell itself has a pretty cool history, even outside of being used in the filming of \u201cGinny & Georgia.\u201d According to the Cobourg website, unemployed men in Cobourg built the bandstand in 1934 which was one of the first of its kind in Ontario when it opened!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>Ginny & Georgia\u2019s Home<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One of the most iconic locations not filmed in Cobourg is Ginny, Georgia, and Austin\u2019s home! The Wellsbury residence is actually a home in the Parkdale-High Park district in York, Toronto. And while you can\u2019t tour this private home, you can rent a nearby home on Peerspace to live out all your \u201cGinny & Georgia\u201d dreams! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The area where Ginny and Georgia\u2019s home is located is one of the most picturesque and exclusive neighborhoods in the Toronto area \u2014 perfect for a classy event or shoot!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>Wellsbury High School<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In 2016<\/a>, Toronto residents came up with ideas for what to do with the defunct Nelson A. Boylen Collegiate Institute ranging from turning it into a nursing home to transforming it into a community hub. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But then, the unused school found a new purpose as the fictional high school of Ginny Miller! While filmmakers added the yellow sculpture outside the school for filming, if you visit the school grounds everything else looks pretty similar to the scenes of the school shown in \u201cGinny & Georgia!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zion rides into town<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Remember Zion riding into town at the end of episode 7? On his way, he crosses the Old Mill Bridge in Etienne Brule Park in Toronto! You can visit this beautiful bridge, designated under the Ontario Heritage Act, to relive this moment in the show \u2014 and to enjoy the yearly salmon run<\/a> if you are there at the right time of year! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gas station in episode 1<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One last place you may want to visit on your tour of \u201cGinny & Georgia\u201d filming locations in Toronto is the EZ Lube Automobile Service. This little gas station in Scarborough is just outside Toronto and was featured in episode one of the show!
