The front door opens on a spacious living room equipped with ample seating, a vintage Persian rug, Moroccan poufs, and a custom-designed Danish rosewood sofa. The chalet is nestled in one of LA's best preserved historic neighborhoods, Verdugo Woodlands. Located within a 10-minute drive to downtown LA, Echo Park, Glendale, Eagle Rock, and Highland Park, a 15-minute drive to Silver Lake, Pasadena, and Hollywood, and a 45-minute drive to Santa Monica and the coast, the chalet is positioned at a convenient distance from all of the natural, urban, and artistic and cultural points of interest that LA has to offer. Verdugo Woodlands is named for and filled with a wonderful variety of trees including coast live oak, jacaranda, redwood, pine, and sycamore. It has a rich Spanish, Mexican and American history dating from 1784. The oldest existing structure, the Catalina Verdugo Adobe, was constructed circa 1828, and is located within a 5 minute walk from the house.
