Enhanced COVID-19 Health & Safety Measures
We have two professional dishwashing machines on site to make cleaning as efficient as possible. Clients are responsible for cleaning everything they use and leaving all spaces and equipment in an appropriate state of use after their shift. Whilst Clients will be required to do their own washing up and workbench cleaning, Mission Kitchen will be taking care of the deep-cleaning and maintenance jobs such as cleaning the ovens, fridges, freezers, floors, filters and bins. We will maintain the cooking equipment, gas system, water system, pipes, ventilation and extractor systems. Mission Kitchen provides a plant-based cleaning solutions and we provide sanitiser, cleaning degreaser and washing up liquid. Members are not permitted to bring their own chemicals onto site and should use only the chemicals available through Mission Kitchen. We will continue to operate Mission Kitchen under all current government guidelines. If we are forced to close our doors for any reason, your membership will be paused and reinstated once we open again. To date, government restrictions in response to COVID-19 have not affected food production facilities like Mission Kitchen. www.missionkitchen.org

Enhanced cleaning measures:
  • The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
  • High-touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
  • Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
  • Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitiser with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
  • Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
  • Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

The following equipment is provided for every guest:
  • Disinfecting wipes or spray and paper towels
  • Disposable masks/face coverings
  • Hand Sanitiser

The space has the following features:

  • Space has additional space outdoors
  • Space has been reconfigured to allow for physical distance

About the Space

The price listed is for our development kitchen only, but we also have our Glass Room (as seen pictured) and Terrace available for hire at an additional cost: Development Kitchen: Our purpose built 450 sq ft commercial development kitchen is spacious and bright, perfect to hire for half a day, full day or evening. The space is ideal to host a range of hires from cookery classes, training sessions, menu development and photoshoots. The room includes 12 workstations that can be set up in a number of arrangements, as well as a table for meeting, dining or photography. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking equipment including state of the art ovens, a range of counter-top units and all the utensils you may need for your event. The Glass Room is a bright and airy blank canvas, ideal for meetings, meals, team events, lectures, workshops and drinks receptions. It is linked to the Development Kitchen and the two spaces can be booked together for events that combine cooking with dining, learning or mingling. The Terrace offers additional outdoor space and is perfect for larger reception events, summer parties and open air breakout space. About us: Our business is a shared workspace for London’s independent food businesses. It launched in June 2021 to support entrepreneurship and inspire innovation in the food industry. The 16,000 sq ft site is home to a community of more than 80 independent food start-ups, who benefit from flexible access to commercial kitchens, co-working space and inspiring events. The site includes London’s largest shared commercial kitchen, alongside training and development kitchen spaces, event venues, and outdoor terraces.

Parking description
Enter New Covent Garden Market using the Main Vehicle Entrance off Nine Elms Lane (by the big orange ‘Bookers’ wholesale store). Follow the road past the flower market and under the railway tunnel. Enter the market site and park your car at the Multi-Storey Car Park indicated on the map below, which is a short walk to Mission Kitchen. Once you have parked, you will need to walk through the market to the Food Exchange building, where Mission Kitchen is located. Please use the map below to guide your route, or enter ‘Mission Kitchen’ into your mobile map provider to confirm our location. When approaching the Food Exchange from the Car Park, the entrance is on the far side of the building. So please walk around the building to where you will see vans parked, and enter the lobby underneath the ‘Food Exchange’ sign.

 
General Rules
No smoking in the building Outside catering is not allowed Alcohol on request CLEANING / DAMAGES Cleaning fee is included in the hourly rate, although guests are expected to leave the space in the same condition as they found it in. Guests must respect the space and we ask/appreciate that guests tidy up after themselves. Guest must remove any equipment or rentals you bring in, and you should factor this setup and teardown time in your booking hours. An additional cost will occur if host does not respect our space. MISCELLANEOUS There is no smoking allowed in the space. No glitter or confetti can be used. There is no open flame or frying allowed on site or any cooking that will create a large amount of smoke as our facility is not ventilated.
