Welcome to Brooklyn Optics, our 1920s Williamsburg historic industrial four-story building! Blending history with production, our building contains its original 1940 stainless steel freight elevator. We hold multiple production and film spaces all within one complex. We are your space for abandoned, haunted or vacant shoot projects. Likewise, because we can control the interior environment, coupled with its solid brick and concrete ceilings, many of the spaces lend themselves to recordings and audio interviews. Our authentic industrial distressed location has been featured in BBC, FOX News, and Cosmopolitan productions. Our Loading Dock Garage is 1750 sq feet, featuring high ceilings, 100-year-old blistered concrete, distressed brick walls, and full remote parabolic softbox overhead bi-light studio light which come with the space. Throughout the space we have remote vintage industrial drop lights that have RGB/ bi lights which can be fully controlled via remote. This studio is vehicle-friendly, and we've accommodated numerous cars during shoots. To bring a vehicle inside, please select the car access add-on, The amount of people booked: we are strict about the amount of people booked. You can't book for 3 people and then show up with 7 people or book for 10 people and show up with 16 people. This is called a "booking misrepresentation" & we are under no obligation to do your shoot. We understand especially after a tech scout, production people see so much more potentiality of the space/spaces and the project grows. Just reach out to us with ample time prior to your project date we're happy to accommodate. If you screen our feedbacks, you'll see we do more than just open the door. We have an incredible amount of resources and props in our in-house storage which for production people who are passionate about their project being exceptional- they like how our spaces and props are dynamic. *For productions with more than 15 people, please reach out to us in advance. If your group includes 10 or more people without insurance, a $500 refundable deposit is required. This deposit will be returned after your production. While we’ve successfully hosted large-scale shoots, our space is designed for professional film and photo productions, not party-style events. These lights are included in the rental agreement. - 1x Parabolic Softbox Remote-Control Overhead Bi-Light RBG Studio Light – Remote-controlled softbox overhead light, included in the rental. It is fixed in place unless taken down before the shoot. Lighting Equipment Available as Add-Ons: - 80W RGB Spotlight with Fresnel Focusing Lens – A versatile spotlight available for $30 per rental. - GoBo Optical Snoot with Screen Effect – Mounted over the desk, can be repositioned for $50 per remount. - 2x LS Photo Studio LED Lights (6500K, 75W each) with Softbox & Rolling Stands – Available for $40 per rental (pair included). - 4x Low-Profile LED Bi-Lights (3600K - 5600K) with NP Batteries – Compact "Baby Aputure" light panels, ideal for hidden lighting. Available for $40 for all four. - 4x CFL 45W Daylight Bulbs with Reflectors – Comes with two stands and two LED bulbs, offering three settings (incandescent, daylight, high-white). $30 for both. - 4x Light Stands (7' height) – Sturdy light stands available for $50 for all four. - Smoke Machine – Enhance your lighting effects with an atmospheric haze. Available for $30 per rental. Climate Control: – Heating Units, very quiet and are hidden discreetly – 3x Battery Heated Vests, for those susceptible to chills Other Important Items: – First Aid Kit (Institutional Grade) – Required fire extinguishers on all floors. We have a full multi-material workshop and props within the building. Those who treat us with respect may use this as a resource.
