This is a beautiful former hunting lodge on the banks of Clearwater Lake. Built in 1906 and nestled in 50 acres of private woodland in the rolling hills of northwest Maine, for most of the year, the camp provides the perfect rustic setting for family holidays, relaxing getaways, foliage tours and winter activities. On the upper floor, the Camp has a lake-facing verandah and three ensuite double bedrooms. On the ground floor there is an open-plan dining room and living area, which includes a beautiful stone fireplace with a mantlepiece. There is also a bunk room (4 beds); a study; utility room; downstairs bathroom and kitchen. There is a large downstairs verandah with steps leading down to the lake, as well as a back deck behind the house. The house is tastefully collected with a wide range of decor from the owner's international travels. Traditional rural Maine activities are also well reflected in the decor (for example the Ski Room and the Bunk Room). The camp sits on the west shore of Clearwater Lake, in Franklin County, north-west Maine. Close to the Canadian border, the Appalachian Trail and Sugarloaf ski resort, the second largest ski destination east of the Mississippi, this is rural Maine at its best.
