About Treehouse A-frame

A cinematic 1960s A-frame tucked into the San Bernardino Mountains, this distinctive former Bryan Cranston cabin offers filmmakers, photographers, and creative teams a location with authentic mid-century character, beautiful natural light, and multiple indoor and outdoor shooting environments—all in one private mountain setting. Lovingly restored and designed by Modern Mecca, this approximately 1,200 sq. ft. cabin combines original architectural character with thoughtfully curated vintage and contemporary furnishings. The result is a highly photogenic location that works beautifully for editorial, lifestyle, fashion, advertising, branded content, music videos, film, television, social content, and small-scale photo shoots. THE LOCATION The cabin is perched among towering pine, spruce, and oak trees, creating a secluded mountain backdrop while remaining conveniently accessible from the surrounding mountain communities. Inside, a dramatic wall of glass brings the forest directly into the living space, providing beautiful natural light and constantly changing views throughout the day. The architecture itself becomes part of the set: ✔ Iconic 1960s A-frame architecture ✔ Soaring tongue-and-groove ceilings ✔ Dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows ✔ Original-inspired floating staircase ✔ Restored Mid-Century Modern Preway fireplace ✔ Modern furnishings mixed with sought-after MCM pieces ✔ Paul McCobb and Evelyn Ackerman design elements ✔ Warm wood tones and natural textures ✔ Approximately 1,200 sq. ft. of interior space ✔ Approximately 931 sq. ft. of private exterior decking MULTIPLE SHOOTABLE ENVIRONMENTS One of the biggest advantages of this location is the variety of looks available without having to move locations. Main Living Area An open, beautifully styled space featuring the A-frame architecture, fireplace, dining area, vintage furnishings, and dramatic forest-facing windows. Ideal for lifestyle, interiors, editorial, commercial, and narrative work. Kitchen & Dining A fully equipped, thoughtfully designed kitchen and dining area provide a natural lifestyle setting for cooking, entertaining, product, food, and branded content. Main-Floor Bedroom A warm, intimate bedroom with a queen bed and natural materials that can easily work for lifestyle, hospitality, fashion, or editorial photography. Upper Loft Bedroom A completely different visual environment, with a king bed, soaring ceiling, floor-to-ceiling windows, and elevated treetop views. The loft has a private, treehouse-like quality that photographs beautifully. Hidden Lounge A cozy vintage-inspired lounge with distinctive mid-century character—perfect for intimate lifestyle scenes, movie-night concepts, interviews, music content, or editorial work. Three Levels of Outdoor Space The expansive decking creates several distinct outdoor shooting environments, from intimate lifestyle scenes to wide mountain and forest compositions. THE ROOFTOP DECKS Two private rooftop decks provide additional production opportunities and dramatically different natural-light conditions. The East Rooftop Deck is ideal for morning light, coffee scenes, lifestyle content, and treetop views. The West Rooftop Deck is particularly beautiful later in the day and features a vintage-inspired sunshade and outdoor lounger—perfect for golden-hour portraits, fashion, lifestyle, and editorial work. The lower private deck and surrounding yard provide additional exterior options, with trees, mountain views, and a natural forest setting. NATURAL LIGHT Natural light is one of the defining characteristics of this location. The large wall of glass and multiple windows bring abundant daylight into the main living areas and upper loft, while the surrounding trees create beautiful filtered light and natural texture. Today, we've carefully restored the cabin while preserving the architecture, character, and spirit that make it so distinctive. It's not a manufactured studio set—it is a genuine mountain home with authentic mid-century architecture, surrounded by the forest. That authenticity is what makes it special on camera. EASY MOUNTAIN ACCESS Located in Running Springs, the cabin provides a convenient mountain production location with easy access to the area's surrounding communities and landscapes. Lake Arrowhead is approximately 6 miles west, while Big Bear Lake is approximately 15 miles east. The surrounding San Bernardino Mountains provide additional opportunities for exterior photography and film, depending on production requirements and applicable permissions. A PRIVATE, BEAUTIFUL SET FOR SMALL PRODUCTIONS Whether you're creating a national campaign, shooting an editorial, producing branded social content, or capturing a small film or photo project, we're happy to work with creative teams to make the location experience as smooth as possible. We're proud to offer a space that is not only beautiful on camera, but also comfortable, thoughtfully maintained, and welcoming to the people behind the production. Bring your creative vision. We'll provide the setting.
