Welcome to THE WORKZ, a versatile 1,000 sq. ft. industrial creative studio designed for photo, video, podcast, and content production. The studio is housed inside Alameda Towers, a historic 1925 industrial building in Downtown Los Angeles. Once home to LA's manufacturing, garment and produce industries, the building's original industrial character remains — oversized factory windows, concrete columns, high ceilings and open floor plans — now reimagined for a new generation of LA creatives. THE SPACE The open, modular layout allows you to move between multiple shooting areas or reconfigure the space to fit your creative vision. It’s especially well suited for: • Photo and editorial shoots • Social media and branded content • Music performance content • Podcast recording and filmed podcast content • Fashion and beauty shoots • Interviews and talking-head content • Product and lifestyle photography • Reels, TikToks, and short-form video • Creative campaigns and small productions SHOOTING AREAS Living Room / Lifestyle Set A styled living room setup for lifestyle content, filmed podcasts, interviews, portraits, branded shoots, and editorial concepts. Furniture can be repositioned to create different compositions and shooting angles. Backdrop / Seamless Area A dedicated flexible shooting area for portraits, fashion, product photography, e-commerce, and video. Use it as a clean backdrop or transform it to suit your production. Statement Wall / Creative Set A visually distinctive set with added texture and dimension for fashion, music, editorial, portrait, and creative video concepts. Makeup + Changing Area A dedicated prep area gives talent a comfortable space for hair, makeup, wardrobe, and outfit changes without taking over the main shooting floor. With multiple ready-to-shoot environments in one open floor plan, you can capture several completely different looks during a single booking without changing locations. ENTRY + LOAD-IN On-site parking is available with an attendant for a $10 flat rate. Building Entry - Guests may enter the building via stairs or ramp from parking area. Once on site, follow the mural-lined hallway to the freight elevator at the end of the hall. Freight Elevator - Take the freight elevator to the 5th floor. An elevator attendant operates from 8:00 AM–6:00 PM. For bookings extending past 6:00 PM, the freight elevator can remain in operation for an ADDITIONAL attendant fee. Please confirm availability and additional cost with the host prior to booking. Free stair access remains available after 6:00 PM, so plan your shoots and egress accordingly. If your production requires large equipment or significant load-in/load-out, we recommend scheduling these portions during regular elevator hours or arranging extended elevator service in advance. Finding THE WORKZ: After exiting the freight elevator on the 5th floor, walk straight to the end of the hallway, turn right, and THE WORKZ Unit 525 is the first door on your left. Studio Access: A private entry code will be provided upon booking. The studio door automatically locks when closed, so please keep your access code handy throughout your booking. Restrooms: Shared restrooms are located on the same floor. From THE WORKZ, turn left and continue down the hallway. At the second hallway, turn right to access the restrooms. Load-In / Load-Out: All setup, load-in, breakdown, and load-out must take place within your reserved booking time. BOOK WITH US!
