Minimum spend for a venue means you agree to spend a set amount on food, drinks, or services during your event rather than paying a flat hire fee for the space. If your guests collectively hit that target at the bar or on catering, you’ve met the requirement. If they don’t reach the minimum spend, you cover the difference at the end of the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, a \u00a31,000 minimum with 50 guests works out to \u00a320 per head across the evening. That’s roughly four drinks each at London prices. If total spend reaches \u00a31,000, you pay nothing extra. If it only reaches \u00a3800, you settle the remaining \u00a3200 before leaving. A \u00a3500 minimum with 25 guests follows the same logic at a smaller scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many venues are adaptable in regards to how you meet the minimum spend\u2014for example, you may wish to put some money behind the bar to cover the first round for your guests, or you may want your guests to contribute towards the full minimum.
