Britain has a long and largely unexplained habit of building things that serve no purpose. A stone pineapple raised over a gardener’s cottage. The habit has not gone away. In 2026 it produces two retired RAF search and rescue helicopters fitted with bunk beds, a five-acre field in Pembrokeshire holding a flying saucer next to a decommissioned Etihad Airbus, and a Lincolnshire warehouse where 15,000 shop mannequins wait in the dark for anyone brave enough to park up overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
