Unique 1927 home is now available for still photo shoots and small video shoots (fewer than 20 people -- see variable fee structure below). The entire ground floor interior and exterior are available. The house was built by silent film star Mae Marsh ("Birth of a Nation, "Intolerance," etc.) for her family. Over the course of 50 years, beginning in 1968, the legendary artisan George Ehling transformed the originally Spanish revival-style home into an eclectic mosaic masterpiece incorporating Moorish, Moghul, and Romanesque motifs. Areas available for shooting (see photographs) include the great/living room, the grand entry hall and staircase, the master bedroom, the dining room furnished with a large refectory table, the kitchen, and various outdoor areas including a magnificent Roman bathhouse with a ceiling approximately 25 feet high. A guest room and bathroom are available for a dressing area. An outdoor holding area is available for the crew behind the house. The views to the north and east are panoramic, and include the Hollywood Sign, the Barham Pass, and Universal Studios Hollywood. The house is located on Woodrow Wilson Drive, not far from Cahuenga Blvd. Parking for one truck (up to a 27-foot cube van) is available in front of the garage. Other parking must be arranged off-site. Typically, a production will shuttle their crew and talent from a nearby lot, but it is also possible to carpool. If only one to three cars are involved, dispersed street parking can often be located. FEE STRUCTURE: $200/hour up to 6 people (all crew and talent) $250/hour for 7 to 13 people $300/hour for 14 to 20 people The 6-hour minimum applies to any size group, with a maximum of 12 hours.
