Welcome to Bechdel Project Headquarters! Bechdel Project (www.bechdelproject.org) is a feminist non-profit located on the top floor of a 1930s potato chip factory now operating as artists’ lofts in the heart of Greenpoint's TV & Film studios. When we’re not busy dismantling the patriarchy, we love to host events in our live/work space! Our rustic loft retains all the charms, quirkiness, and classic appeal from the 1980s when Greenpoint was the wild frontier of New York artist live-work spaces. There is a ton of natural light and big windows throughout the loft as well as raw, industrial elements such as brick (exposed and white washed), wooden beams, 12 foot ceilings and original factory accents (like our apocalypse style trap doors!). Decorated with a warm but minimalistic aesthetic and a focus on multi use spaces makes this loft perfect for creative events, performances, or, classes, or community gatherings. Every event booking includes guest access to our 800 square foot raw studio space, 3200 square foot rooftop with Manhattan views, our 600 square foot kitchen/dining/reception area and bathroom.
