This is the historic Sutro Tunnel site! We have 28 acres of historic property with 12 structures on site, our own lake, historic items and the Sutro Tunnel! The structures are - The portal!! - Candle Building - Machine Shop - Mule Barn - Wood Shop - Warehouse - Carriage House - Victorian house (haunted?) - 2 caretakers homes - Chicken Coop - Pump house/ laundry room - Historic Equipment - Foundation of the Historic Sutro Mansion - Ore Carts - A private lake!!! Around 200,000 gallon capacity The tunnel is collapsed near the entrance but we are working on restoring it. The tunnel is 3.88 miles long and runs below Virginia City then forks and goes another mile and half in either direction. Once this is complete this will be the only location of its type, landscape and design in the world. We are working on restoring the site for tours and reopening the tunnel but this is a costly endeavor. By using our site you are bringing income that goes 100% to restoration efforts. The attention that your film brings to us also grows interest in our project. You are helping to save a historic site and get access to a location that very few people have ever been able to visit.
