Our gorgeous 1,200 ft2 professional recording facility is a unique site as well-suited for film and video as it is for recording bands, choirs, string quartets, or interviews. 16 ft ceilings make for an expansive feel and sound. Exposed brick, hardwood floors, and Fortuna-style cloth walls make for an otherworldly feel just one subway stop into Brooklyn. The studio has ample room for film and lighting personnel, photographers, artists and management as well as space for holding, hair and makeup, and wardrobe. Includes spacious and comfortable lounge with lots of natural light, a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, coffee machine and water cooler. Owner and engineer Reed Black is always on site to assist, and can engineer and/or produce if needed for an additional fee. Studio boasts 32 channels audio i/o via boutique digital audio converters, Pro Tools Ultimate, as well as a deep locker of extraordinary vintage mics and recording equipment. We record to digital, and mix to ½" analog tape if it's indicated. Backline includes many great examples of vintage and modern instruments, amps and drums, including a 1923 Steinway L.
