This was built in 1680 and was restored to the 17th century in the early 2000s. The original hand-hewn timber frame is exposed; gunstock posts in the corners, floor joists and beams on the low ceiling. Walls have a historic rough plaster finish with handmade all-wood windows and wavy, imperfect glass. The windows overlook a protected salt marsh, the same one used by William Haskell to harvest hay in 1680. The trees bordering the marsh block out the main road and any neighboring houses, creating a view that has been nearly untouched for over 340 years. The main 1680 house has two rooms on the first floor and two rooms on the second with a central staircase and chimney containing three massive 17th century fireplaces. The first floor rooms are the Parlor (the nicest room/entertaining room) and the Hall (original kitchen) both restored to its original 17th century look with massive exposed timbers and fireplaces with cooking ovens in the Hall fireplace. The first floor has two additions added onto the original 1680 house. One is a 1930 colonial revival addition made to look as if it was built it the 1600s with wood paneling, an exposed wood frame and lots of windows overlooking the salt marsh. The other addition was an 18th century shed or barn that was moved and attached to this home in the early 1900s to add an additional bedroom. There are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in the home. It is fully wired with modern electricity and is heated and cooled by a modern geothermal system in conjunction with newly insulated walls. The furniture is a combination of original and reproductions from the 17th and 18th centuries.
