History of the space Welcome to the 7th st Historical District! West Oakland is known for being a Jazz Mecca and the home of the Black Panther Party. Neighborhood details We're located 5 blocks from West Oakland Bart. There are a few restaurants on 7th street and tons of good eats in Oakland all a short driving distance. Logistics We have a nice rectangular building that is about 600 sq ft. It has graffiti and art on the walls, as well as merchandise. The clothing racks can be removed but the graffiti can't be. The back opens up into a 400 sq ft private "Garden" area with its own designated electrical outlets. We have 7 full event tables and 15 chairs. We've fit 35 inside seated and 20 outside seated. Without chairs you can fit 4 full tables on the right side and 3 on the left. There is usually parking close by as long as its not a street sweeping day. On those days you can park in the post office lot. Were very close to the bus lines and 5 blocks from West Oakland BART. *If you have camera equipment, or basically anything expensive we ask that you pull up to the front for loading in and loading out. Also, please do not keep ANYTHING of value in your car, not even in the trunk. We have a dedicated cleaner with 40 years of cleaning experience maintaining the space and making sure its prepared for guests and clients. Paper towels, TP, hand soap, and hand sanitizer will be available. We use eco-friendly cleaners and the space is cleaned after every event.
