A two-family Renaissance Revival brownstone built in 1902 by prolific Brooklyn architect Axel Hedman. It's situated on a quiet tree-lined residential street in the Crown Heights Historic District. The main house consists of a large open parlor floor with 10.5ft ceiling height and original period details, including an ornate wood staircase, large built-in pier mirrors framed with intricate woodwork and bay windows complete with original built-in shutters. The open dining room with tiled fireplace and cornicing leads into a south facing sunlit modern kitchen, with its large stone island, custom cabinetry designed with warm wood tone. The upstairs hallway is lit by a large skylight and leads to a bright south-facing primary suite with custom built-in shelving and windowed modern bathroom. In the hallway. A second large bedroom with original fireplace and a study with floor to ceiling bookshelves completes the floor. At the back of the townhouse is a multi-faceted garden. The private terrace off the parlor floor kitchen, is built on top of a green roof. A metal staircase, covered with ivy, winds down into the beautiful yard with a custom-built seating area and teak wooden patio.
