This is a character-rich, stone-vaulted basement bar and whisky tasting room tucked away in central Bath. The space is warm, intimate, and full of texture - exposed stone, wood panelling, leather seating, vintage whisky signage, and a feature copper still in the Tasting Room. Both rooms offer completely distinct looks, making it ideal for photo shoots, interviews, drinks content, product campaigns, lifestyle shoots, small-scale filming, and editorial work. The venue sits inside one of Bath’s historic basement structures, part of a building dating back several centuries. The original stone arches and thick walls have been preserved, giving the space its atmospheric “hidden bar” feel. The tasting room was later added as a dedicated whisky space - wood-lined, softly lit, and built around the still and bottle displays. The location is right in the centre of Bath, just off a quiet pedestrian lane moments from the Abbey and the main shopping streets. It is easy for crews to reach, but tucked away enough to avoid heavy footfall and traffic noise. Nearby parking lots, bus links, and the train station make it simple for teams to arrive and unload. The venue consists of two connected rooms: • Main Bar (approx. 320 sq ft) - stone-vaulted ceiling, bar backdrop, leather seating • Whisky Tasting Room (approx. 138 sq ft) - wood panelling, bottle displays, copper still Access: The bar is located in a basement space and is only accessible via a set of stairs. There is no lift. Load-in is straightforward as the stairs are directly inside the entrance, and a staff member will be on-site throughout your booking to assist as needed. When booked, the entire space is private to your group. Tables and chairs can be moved within reason but must be returned to their original positions. Toilet access is available. The venue is intentionally low-lit to keep its atmosphere, so most shoots will benefit from bringing additional lighting. Please also be aware that we have neighbours, so noise levels must remain reasonable and cannot exceed typical filming or acoustic levels. Availability The space is available Wednesday to Friday, 10am to 2pm only. Half-day and commercial rates for agencies or brand campaigns are listed in the pricing section. Past bookings The space has already been used by a handful of independent photographers and videographers for drinks content, portrait work, and short-form social media shoots. A folk band also hired the venue for a music video session and Instagram content, taking advantage of the warm, atmospheric lighting and unique textures. It has consistently worked well for small creative teams who need a distinctive backdrop without outside noise or interruptions.
