We've heard from friends that finding an affordable and simple podcast studio is tough, so putting our DYI studio out there to see if it's right for anyone, but it's highly recommended you ask to see it first so you can see if it's right for you. We have a dedicated small room for podcasting that is good for a 1-4 person show. It's easy to swap out branding as the felt sound panels on wall are attached with velcro command strips so you could buy your own color and swap out before a show or tack on branding if it's lightweight. The shelf can hold a sign or object for branding as well. Sound and lighting are simple, but solid for a small show. We tend to cool down the space prior to shows and then turn off A/C for recording to avoid sound issues but that's up to you. There is a dedicated bathroom to the studio for privacy and prep, but we will likely be home downstairs or across the hall for safety and troubleshooting. Important to note that 2 cats live on-site but we keep the studio very clean, however allergies may be triggered for those affected. We're happy to have guests use our on-site mics, mixer, lighting and a guest profile on the iMac to run it, but additional laptops and specialized equipment are not included and we'd need prior approval to any serious rearranging to the space. We use Riverside to run our show and have found that if you're doing remote guests, it's better to use the sound from the SD card in the mixer instead of Riverside audio, so if that is part of your show, you will need to bring an SD card or we can chat about extra fees for sending audio after the recording. Absolutely no smoking, no food or drink in studio (but we're happy to host you for a drink downstairs afterward) and since this is our home space as well, we would like to find podcasters who will enjoy and respect it as they would a good friend's place. We're open to someone who has a regular show and schedule, or folks with one-time or limited time use.
