A bright, creative, and inspired environment for your next photo shoot, video shoot, casting, workshop, or production meeting. Located in the North East part of San Francisco's Mission District the studio is in a stand-alone, single unit building with a one-car garage and easy street level access. The studio features warm red brick walls, hardwood floors, large skylights with blackout blinds, high ceilings, full kitchen and a tasteful mix of modern and antique furnishings. The main room is set back from the street, away from traffic noise. We are within easy walking distance of BART, MUNI lines, cafes, and restaurants. Originally built in the 1920's as the Nederland Bakery, it became Klub Komotion in the mid-80's and played an important role in San Francisco's alternative art and underground music scene up until the mid-90's. In 2000 the interior of the building underwent extensive remodeling into its current incarnation. We love that this space has hosted and continues to be a part of so many groundbreaking and creative projects. Rental start and end times are inclusive of set up and clean up. Professional events only; Not available for parties. Rental Area includes One Car Garage, Foyer, Ground floor Bathroom, Kitchen and Main Room/Studio. (Rental excludes use of Front Room/Office and entire second floor) The studio is generally very quiet but it is not soundproof. High traffic events, ie: castings, require someone to manage the front door.
Angela and Marty was able to accommodate the floor plan changes for the training session that we had. Arriving day of training they had the floor plan laid out the way the trainer wanted. Kitchen area had coffee and tea. Angela was very helpful. When a last min request of ordering coffee needed to be filled Marty told me that there was Peets close by to pick up. I had issue with my lunch order and Angela suggested to get snacks to hold everyone over until food arrives, she went with me and helped layout snacks. She was always available when I had a question or needed help with setting up. I didn't have worry about clean up after. I would definitely book with them in the future
We had the best day ever in this space. It was beautiful, clean, and Marty and Angela were so wonderful. They helped us set up, breakdown and were so very accommodating. We will most definitely be back!
Great space - perfect for presentations, brainstorming and collaboration! We had a wonderful time there. Angela & Marty were extremely accommodating. I hope to book here again soon!
