About the Space

A bright, creative, and inspired environment for your next business meeting, presentation, workshop, or off-site think session. Located in the North East part of San Francisco's Mission District the studio is in a stand-alone, single unit building with a one-car garage and easy street level access. The studio features warm red brick walls, hardwood floors, high ceilings, large skylights with blackout blinds, full kitchen and a tasteful mix of modern and antique furnishings. The main room is set back from the street, away from traffic noise. We are within easy walking distance of BART, MUNI lines, cafes, and restaurants. Originally built in the 1920's as the Nederland Bakery, it became Klub Komotion in the mid-80's and played an important role in San Francisco's alternative art and underground music scene up until the mid-90's. In 2000 the interior of the building underwent extensive remodeling into its current incarnation. We love that this space has hosted and continues to be a part of so many groundbreaking and creative projects. For over ten years we have been renting our space for photo shoots, casting sessions, and as a location for video and film shoots. Recently, our clients have found that the studio is also an ideal environment for their off-site business and production meetings. Professional events only; Not available for parties. Rental start and end times are inclusive of set up and clean up. Rental Area includes One Car Garage, Foyer, Ground floor Bathroom, Kitchen and Main Room/Studio. (Rental excludes use of Front Room/Office and second floor) Catering and Outside Food is Allowed. High traffic events, ie: castings, require someone to manage the front door.

Yes, yes, their space is amazing. Angela and Marty are lovely people. I've said all that before, and I'll never stop saying that. But having survived the Great SF Heatwave of 2017, I'll say this: It was 107 outside the studio the day of our shoot. We had no idea while we were shooting. We were that comfortable. 'Nuff said.

The hosts were so lovely! They kept the coffee brewing and set up the studio early before we event arrived to make sure we had a seamless experience. The space looks exactly as it is pictured and is so fun to hang out in. I am already looking for an excuse to book it again!

We had a terrific KQED offsite for Marketing and Communications along with our Audience Insights team. The space was gorgeous, well appointed with terrific assets and lots of chairs.
