About the Space

This professionally equipped studio is available for hourly or daily rental. It is 1,700 square feet and has an extensive Profoto studio flash lighting system, as well as Litepanels continuous lights. The studio and lighting gear are suitable for portrait photography & headshots, as well as commercial and product photography. Please note: the minimum booking is for 2 hours. Lighting & studio gear INCLUDED in the rental fee: ~ (5x) Profoto D1 studio flash units ~ (1x) Profoto D2 studio flash unit ~ huge range of Profoto softboxes & gridded strip-boxes. ~ Profoto beauty dish & gridded reflectors. ~ (5x) Litepanels Astra LED continuous lights. ~ various paper backdrops (9ft and 4ft wide) ~ (3x) canvas backgrounds ~ (4x) muslin backgrounds ~ tripods if needed Other benefits included in the studio rental: ~ Free parking right in front of the studio! ~ Ground floor access! No stairs. No steps. ~ Private change room & restroom. ~ Lighted mirrored make-up table. ~ Clothes rack. ~ Large work desk w/ chairs. ~ Guest area with two couches. ~ Coffee machine. ~ Clothes steamer. ~ Fast WiFi (Verizon FIOS). The studio is in Fairfield, NJ / New Jersey, and is near Willowbrook Mall. The studio is easily reached from either Highway 80 or Rt46.

There is free parking right in front of the studio! Ground floor access. No stairs! No steps! Wheelchair and stroller accessible.

Space does not have natural light

Lighting description

As the author of 5 books on flash photography, and as a Profoto Legend of Light — I made sure the studio has an exceptional range of lighting gear. The studio lighting gear is included with the rental fee of the studio: (6x) Profoto D1 studio flashes (500 Ws) – 3 of the lights are set up on boom arms for better positioning. – all 6 lights are on light-stands with caster wheels. Also included is a wide range of studio light modifiers. For video we have 5 Litepanels Astra LED panels for continuous light.

The studio is in a fairly quiet area -- no noisy neighbors or activities. But the studio isn't sound-proof.

General Rules

I will help you set up the initial lighting, if you need. Either myself or an assistant will be present at all times. (I’ll be quietly working on my computer in the office area, unless you need help.) Please do not remove any of the grids on the softboxes or reflectors! There are enough alternatives that there is no need to remove a grid from a softbox. Also don't change any of the lights mounted on the 3 boom stands. Additional fees for the use of glitter: $50 if you clean it up, or $100 if I clean it up.

All ages are allowed in the space

Production insurance is not required

Furniture and decorations may be moved

Furniture can be moved, but needs to be picked up, and not dragged on the floor.

No smoke machines allowed

Nudity is allowed

Security cameras and recording devices

There is a camera pointing to the front door and entrance area.

Recording devices in bathrooms or dressing rooms are prohibited by the Peerspace Services Agreement.

Enhanced Health and Safety Measures

As part of the Guidelines to using the studio, I have implemented protocols to help protect anyone using the studio: The health and safety of my clients are of utmost importance. There are cleaning protocols that I maintain before and after every time the studio is in use. There are disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer in the studio. It is expected that we honor social distancing as much as possible. I will set up all the lighting gear for you, and in that way we minimize the risk of cross-contamination.

Enhanced cleaning measures:

High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

The following equipment is provided for every guest:

Disinfecting wipes or spray and paper towels
Disposable gloves
Disposable masks / face coverings
Hand Sanitizer

The space has the following features:

Capacity is limited based on governmental guidelines
Space has been reconfigured to allow for physical distance
Space has HEPA-certified air filters
