Talk about Flexible Space! This 3,300 square foot 1920's ballroom boasts un-interrupted floor space. The largest reception hall in all of the South Bay. This hidden gem has original hardwood floors, a vaulted/lofty ceiling, freshly painted walls, and newly updated furnishings that will create the perfect backdrop for practically any private event or function. Need some inspiration to help stimulate your next creative project ? Long before we were Boogiezone Utopia, Rorian Gracie who is responsible for the tremendous explosion of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu founded UFC in this building! The first episode of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew was filmed here, and the ever so popular dance crew KINJAZ who were recently featured on NBC's World of Dance were conceived at Boogiezone. For years we have have been home to The Clipper Spirit who also filmed their reality tv show which aired on E! Heidi Klum has even hosted several episodes of America's Next Top Model - Germany in our space. To top it off, this is where music group "Mindless Behavior" practiced their stage tour and American fitness guru, martial artist, actor, and the creator of the Tae Bo exercise program Billy Blanks conducted his workshops! Looking for a simple, no fuss, space that offers the basic amenities so that you can host the event you envision? Boogiezone Utopia provide the perfect environment for practically any function! We have hosted the best Wedding receptions, birthday parties, baby showers, photo shoots, film projects, dance workshops, private and company events, art & fashion shows, and more! And at such a low and affordable hourly rate, we cannot be beat. It is no wonder our hosts and their guests are raving about the Boogiezone Utopia ballroom. Got you curious? Seeing is believing! We encourage you to schedule a guided tour of the space to really get a feel for it! We are situated in charming Old Town Torrance, just 20 minutes south of LAX and easily accessible to all of The South Bay and greater Los Angeles County. Close to the 110 and 405 Freeways, our major cross streets are Carson and Cabrillo. We have a large parking lot in the rear, tons of street parking, and within a few minutes walking distance to a couple of free city parking lots. Notes: 1. With the building owner’s authorization and an additional fee, we can accommodate production vehicles and large trailers. 2. Our 2-story - 14,000sf facility has 6 other rooms available for rent. 3. This ballroom space is located on the 2nd floor. Please note: we do not have an elevator. 4. Customized Lighting Scenes (spotlights, color LEDs, and personalized Gobo) are available for extra fees. 5. We have chairs available for rent, and a few standard size buffet tables. We suggest renting tables from a 3rd party source. 6. We have black floor to ceiling curtains that can be drawn completely to block out the sun, or cover the mirrors.
Make sure that the time frame that your request for your booking INCLUDES your event set up and breakdown/cleanup time. If your time in the space goes beyond what is permitted per our agreement, you will be charged a FULL additional hour. Due to Residential Noise constraints we cannot easily host events with loud music after 10:30pm. However, with advance notice, we may be able to get a variance on our end time constraint of 10:30pm up until 12am by obtaining our surrounding neighbors permission. Additional fees may apply. Outside food is allowed, but please no cooking, open flames, taco carts in our venue. A cleaning fee of $100 will automatically be added to any event. Additional charges may apply if the space requires extra care due larger capacity events, food, etc. Please return all furniture and Boogiezone decor to it's original position. Be sure to sweep, mop up or clean any food mess or spills. All trash must be bagged, tied, and removed, placed in the dumpster located in the rear alley. Failure to do so will result in an additional $100 fee. Alcohol can be served but may not be sold. You will have to agree to signing an additional Release of Liability Agreement. For certain events, we may require you to provide Security (at your own additional expense). We suggest booking enough time and coordinating enough help to decorate the space properly. Our ballroom is a very large space. You are not allowed to decorate outside of this room (the stairway, common areas outside of the space ). Remember, that everything you bring into the space must leave with you. If it is necessary for your table or chair rental to be picked up the next day, coordinating prior to the event is required. Last minute, or no notice is unacceptable and can subject you to overnight storage fees. Please do not tamper with our electrical equipment, wiring, or lighting without consent. Do not add extra lighting without notifying us prior. Failure to do so can result in power failure, outages and more. Power heavy production type shoots and events will require additional backup generators. We love kids, but we do not love them playing out of sight of proper adult supervision. Kids are not allowed to play on or around the stairwell, or in any other empty room that may seem available. Your (professional) DJ may patch into our sound system upon our consent and at no additional charge, however if our system setup is not returned to its exact and original configuration, we can charge for technical service repair or consultation. Plan accordingly, do not arrive earlier than the time than your booking time frame begins and expect to enter the space. Additional fees can and will be charged. We request that you have your own insurance. Please secure necessary one-day event insurance listing us as insured. Guests may cancel their Booking until 30 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 30 days and 7 days before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. Cancellations submitted less than 7 days before the Event start time are not refundable. Learn more
