You’re seeking a space to host a personal event that doesn’t cost a trillion dollars. You’d love to have 30 of your closest friends over for a birthday dinner, but New York apartments are just too small to accommodate your dream soiree. Look no further! St. Lydia's (304 Bond Street) is currently accepting bookings for the following occasions: *Weddings *Baby Showers *Birthday Parties *Anniversary Parties *Dinner Parties *Other Private Events The space comfortably seats 30 people for a sit down dinner and up to 60 people for a standing cocktail event. It’s a furnished environment including a full kitchen where your friends can cook up a storm or your caterers can make themselves at home. It is chic, homey, and looks great in photographs. To keep our space affordable, set up and clean up is up to you! You may move items, we just ask that you please return them to their original place after your rental. We provide renters with a cleaning checklist and require all renters to clean the space after they leave. If the space is not left clean, there is a $200 cleaning fee. It doesn't have to be immaculate, but you must at least sweep, mop, do your dishes, and wipe down the counters. Please note that the decorations in the space (such as the swooping cloth pictured in the photograph) changes in accordance with the season. We can provide you with information about the specific decorations during your rental time. Also, we now have two large oval tables in the space that must remain there. We do not have smaller tables as photographed. We do not provide speakers or a sound system. Renters bring in their portable speaker from home for background music. Loud music is not allowed (i.e. if you want to hire a DJ, we are probably not the site for you). Renters are expected to be respectful of neighbors and keep reasonable noise levels at all times during the event. St. Lydia's is a small storefront church space that also hosts rentals and co-working. We are a progressive, LGBTQ-affirming congregation working together to dispel isolation, reconnect neighbors, and subvert the status quo. Proceeds from all rentals are in direct support of St. Lydia's. All setup and breakdown time needed for events must be included in the total booking charge.
-Guests are responsible for their own set-up and clean up. -Please bear in mind that this is a functioning church! Is rented "as is," which means that it is tidy but lived in! -There are books and items on our shelves. You are welcome to move items, but must return the space to how it was when you found it. -Set up for rentals is generally two large oval tables and counters along the brick wall. -As this is a operational church, please note that there are religious items such as Bibles in the space. There is no large religious iconography such as crosses. There is a sign in the front window that indicates this is a church space. The signs cannot be removed; renters should be comfortable with this aspect of our identity. -Weekends: 11pm end time firm. Quiet cleanup can continue to 12am at the latest. -Weekdays: 10pm end time firm. Quiet cleanup can continue to 11pm at the latest.
Julia was the most patient, gracious host and answered all of my approximately 10 million questions with grace. The space is both stunning and cozy and the perfect spot to hold a wedding rehearsal dinner or cocktail hour, the latter of which we had. Wonderful experience and very thankful to Julia.
This venue is amazing. I rented it for my 30th birthday and had about 40 guests in and out throughout the night, which was a comfortable amount for the space. The kitchen is huge and the host was extremely responsive through Peerspace messaging, texting, and emails. I would definitely recommend this space and would love to use it again!
The space was perfect! My daughter’s 5th birthday party will definitely be memorable. Julia was quite accommodating and responsive to all my inquiries! All our family and friends raved about the gorgeous space!
The space was lovely and a charming setting for our bridal shower. Julia was very responsive to our questions and flexible as to the timing of our event. Other than the absence of a dishwasher (which we knew about in advance), the kitchen was very well-supplied - salad bowls, platters, plates, silverware, knives, cutting boards, etc. We did have some trouble figuring out how to expand the tables - some brackets seemed to be missing - but that was our only complication. Would definitely book again.
The photos match the depiction of the space accurately. It is intimate and warm environment and chic. All my guests LOVED the space and will be looking to do events there in the future. Julia is very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. You will not be disappointed if you book this space!!!
This place is amazing! The decor was cute on its own. Julia is such a pleasure to work with! Very spacious and has everything we need. Short a few chairs for a bridal shower of 35 people but the benches in the front were very cute and helpful! Love this place and will definitely book again!
We just had our son’s 1st Birthday party here and it was the perfect space. We got so many compliments on it from our guests. We had about 35 adults and 10 kids and it was plenty of room. The space has everything you need and they make it easy for you to use it all. Leave time for clean up after your event, but they outline everything that needs to be done. Julia was great to work with! I’d highly recommend this space.
