Our venue is versatile for all kinds of functions - it's the perfect space to host a personal event that doesn’t cost a month's rent. Perhaps you’d love to have 30 of your closest friends over for a birthday dinner, but New York apartments are just too small to accommodate your dream soiree? Then look no further! We are accepting bookings for you special event: * Wedding * Baby Shower * Birthday Party * Anniversary Party * Dinner Party * Other Private Events The space comfortably seats 20 people for a sit down dinner and up to 60 people for a standing cocktail event. It’s a furnished environment including a full kitchen where your friends can cook up a storm or your caterers can make themselves at home. Chic but homey, and looks great in photographs. The natural light is beautiful and abundant! To keep our space affordable, the set up and clean up is up to you. You may move items, we just ask that you return them to their original place after your rental. Please note that the decorations in the space (such as the swooping cloth pictured in the photograph) changes in accordance with the season (right now we have delicate branches colorful paper flowers). We'd be happy to provide you with information about the specific decorations during your rental time. To keep our space affordable, set up and clean up is up to you. You may move items, we just ask that you please return them to their original place. We provide renters with a cleaning checklist and require all renters to clean the space after they leave. If the space is not left clean, we will charge a cleaning fee. All setup and breakdown time needed for events must be included in the total booking charge. We do not provide speakers or a sound system. Renters can bring a portable speaker from home for background music. Loud music is not allowed (i.e. if you want to hire a DJ, we are probably not the venue for you). Renters are expected to be respectful of neighbors and keep reasonable noise levels at all times. St. Lydia's is a small storefront church space that also hosts rentals! We are a progressive, LGBTQIA-affirming congregation working together to dispel isolation, reconnect neighbors, and subvert the status quo. Proceeds from all rentals are in direct support of St. Lydia's. Thank you!
- Guests are responsible for their own set up and clean up. - There are books and other items on our shelves. You are welcome to move them, but must return the space to how it was when you found it. Please take photos at first to be sure! - We have three large oval tables - you are welcome to take them apart, so long as you set them back up before you leave. It takes at least ten minutes and two people - we will provide you with detailed instructions. It's tricky, but absolutely not impossible! - As this is a operational church, please note that there are religious items such as bibles in the space. We do have a cross, which is very easy to take down and put in the garden out back. Renters should be comfortable with this aspect of our identity. PLEASE NOTE: If the space is left untidy (food and decorations left behind, garbage unbagged, floor unswept, items out of place etc.) we will charge a cleaning fee. THANK YOU!
Guests may cancel their Booking until 7 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 7 days and 24 hours before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. Booking cancellations submitted less than 24 hours before the Event start time are not refundable. Learn more
Best host I could ask for! I’ve been through many AirBnBs and none have been more accommodating than my first time using Peerspace with Denise. She was able to work with me when I was running late due to party planning. She was extremely responsive and I never felt like I was alone. Highly recommend!
This is a very beautiful and clean space. Several of my guests literally walked in and complimented on it. The Host was also very wonderful and easy to work with. She was easily available for contact and was able to accommodate us well. Even when it came to clean up, there is a very organized, clearly spelled out checklist of what to do upon entering & leaving. I loved it!
We loved St. Lydia's event space. It was beautifully decorated, and the perfect space for our baby shower. Having access to a kitchen and a small outdoor space was also a really nice addition, and made prepping food items and entertaining quite a few children much easier than we anticipated. The folks at St. Lydia's were also incredibly responsive and accommodating. We would highly recommend renting St. Lydia's for your next occasion.
We had our baby shower here and it was perfect for a little friends and family gathering. Space was super cute with lots of natural sunlight. However, communication was a bit hard between us and the hostess (waited a bit too long for responses with questions regarding the place). Also, the place wasnt very clean when we started the event. We had to sweep up, wipe down tables, and take trash outside. (Even though we are required to also clean afterwards) just seemed a little unfair. Overall great space and Julia was overall very accommodating. Thinking of renting again, now that we know more about the space.
The event space was beautiful, versatile, and perfect for our DIY baby shower. We had some communication/logistics issues with the venue throughout our booking, but they did try to make up for it.
We used this space for a baby shower and it turned out to be perfect. Julia is very helpful, ready to answer all questions. The space is beautiful. We did do some adjustments prior to the party and the 60 minutes we gave ourselves for set up was barely enough, so I definitely reccomend booking for longer. Overall everyone loved this place and had a great time. Thank you

This is a beautiful space and accommodated a 12 person dinner perfectly (with plenty of room and seats to spare!). It's cozy and well equipped with a great kitchen. Julia was super helpful when I had questions - really pro. Thanks!
