Approximately 2000 square feet. All furniture is on castors and is moved out easily! Great for unique holiday parties, themed mixers, company get togethers, fundraisers and the like. Walking distance to Bart and Muni. Art gallery space in the back as well as nooks and crannies full of books and ephemera. We are a working bookstore but available for rentals after store hours, usually 8-11pm. If you'd like the space during what would normally be out business hours we are happy to work with you and close up early. Feel free to come by during normal business hours and check out the space. Send me an email and I shall tell you the address. Live music or DJ's are fine as long as they aren't crazy loud. We have a PA, microphones and speakers for your use. (You can input standard audio signals from a phone, laptop, etc. via the headphones output on your device). Please note that we are a cooperativley run store that exists solely to promote and uphold the arts and intellectual advancement of the Bay Area community. We do not exist to make a profit, merely to get by and to serve our community! Please also note that you must plan for the setup time of your event when booking. In other words, if you want your event to start at 8pm and you will be setting up food and drink beforehand you must book for at least one half hour prior to the start time to account for this.

We had a poetry reading food & drink, and DJ set up for a book release party and reading, so we had a variety of tech set up needs. Jonnie was really helpful during set up and break down. It was super cozy and we were able to accommodate almost 50 people.

We celebrated our wedding at Adobe Books (the place where my husband and I had our first date) and this place is amazing. It has the best vibe and Jonnie was extremely helpful in answering all the questions we had. We had around 23 guests and the space didn't feel too crowded, plus being surrounded by amazing vintage books is always a plus. Would definitely book again for another event.

Lovely venue! This was the perfect space for our event. Only thing to note is that they don’t have a water fountain / drinking water - not an issue, just something to be prepared for. Would love to come back!
