"The Gallery" is a unique "creative space for Film Production, Creative Events, and features a Community Art Gallery/Creative space at the back of a large "secret garden" property. Our mission statement: Where Art and Community Collide. For film production, we provide a rustic, serene ambience on a large double lot, six bungalows (two fully-restored bungalows available for interior filming), and beautiful exterior yard with ample courtyard, deck and garden space within the privacy of an exclusive "walk" street location west of Lincoln Boulevard in much sought after Venice. The Gallery space in back has been newly renovated with authentic Venice charm for play and script readings, theatre productions, acting classes, acting coaching, photography headshots, self-tapes for actor auditions, and creative events. Featured is a front patio area with a variety of plants, a deck in the main yard, a zen meditation amid several beautiful landscaped yards, giant bamboo, zen meditation garden, and large trees and unique shrubbery and plants. We also have a interior gallery space located at the back of the property, which can be utilized as a blank canvas to create a bedroom, studio, office or any number of possible film sets by the production design team for your film. In a recent award-winning film, "Designated Caretaker Redux," the gallery was turned into a film editing studio for the lead character complete with editing bay, 16mm projector, and monitors. In the upcoming feature film, "The Accompanist," production used three bungalows to create the feel of the Holden household (the house of the lead actor, Jason Holden) including living room, kitchen, bathroom, Jason's bedroom and the children's bedrooms. The gallery space is available for your next private event, retail exhibition, film or theatre production, fundraiser, or pop-up art event. We encourage rentals for artists, painters, community-based multi-media presentations, play readings, script readings, acting seminars or workshops for artists, painters, photographers, and other creative presentations and events. The gallery was created out of three re-converted garages--the look is organic, authentic and beautifully wrought in a garden-like setting with plentiful natural light. Doors and windows look out into a garden paradise. The Gallery has plenty of wall space inside and four large metal folding scrims for additional wall space to hang paintings or photographs. The 18’ x 27’ facility boasts unique wood covered walls from over 50 years ago accented by an industrial look with wooden beams and gray cement painted concrete floors. Film crews can load in through the alley on Marco Court and there is ample parking on nearby Venice streets. Our kickoff event presented original paintings and prints by renowned automotive biographer Harold Cleworth. We are interested encouraging and nurturing local artists, actors, writers, directors, musicians, painters, photographers and other creatives who are more at home in a community-based setting. We have been fortunate to host very successful events for painters, photographers, politicians, best-selling authors, and media celebrities. All this within a stone's throw of Erewhon health food store, award-winning Pacific Resident Theatre, Beyond Baroque and trendy Abbot Kinney lined with boutique shops and fine dining.
