This venue is a historic train station moved to East Austin in the 1980’s. The stained glass windows were brought in from a railroad station from Wabash, Indiana and the brass lamps originated from the 1939 Pullman station. The room was divided by a beautiful ticket counter with a wire mesh window and an old money drawer from the I.C. station built in 1917. Outside of the building, sits a railroad crossing signal and a decommissioned rail line covered by an antique awning. Vintage light fixtures were sprinkled around the exterior of the building, and a beautiful historical gem took shape. The venue is next door to the thriving East Austin complex which include Austin Bouldering Project, Daily Greens, Austin Eastciders, Friends and Allies Brewery, Groundfloor Theatre, and Dimension Gallery. It is nestled alongside the warehouse, sitting in a beautiful field as if it were a time capsule. Owner Moya Khabele conceived the idea to breathe life back in to the old relic. She joined forces with the developer to convert the unique train station into a public event venue to be shared with all of Austin. In the summer of 2016, the venue opened to the public, as an event venue, a one of a kind space to host parties, receptions, fundraisers, weddings, and community events. The historic Pine Street Station was moved from downtown onto the site in July of 2016 and is currently under construction, scheduled to be open in the spring for additional event space. Music, Noise, and Building Occupancy Policy a. No live music is allowed outdoors. If your event has a band, it must be set up inside. b. All festivities must conclude no later than 11:00 pm. c. The capacity of the building is 100 persons maximum. The capacity of the outdoor area is 400. Smoking – No smoking is allowed inside the building or on the courtyard areas Rehearsals and Set Up Time a. Wedding rehearsals may be scheduled prior to the event at a cost for one (1) hour free of cost and is based on availability. b. Your event rental is for a 10 hour block of time, therefore you can begin set up based on the estimated start and end time. For additional set up and/or rehearsal time (above the 1 hour free provided with the contract), we charge $100 per hour. Decorations – All Decorations must be approved by the staff. a. No tape (exception Shurtape), nails or staples can be used on building surfaces. Wire, Floral wire, non-stick tape are allowed. No tape of any kind is allowed on the wood floors. The venue is not held liability for events not being held due to uncontrollable circumstances or weather conditions.
Incredible space! We hosted a holiday Casino Night for a business party. Everyone had a great time. The interior decor and exterior grounds were the perfect combination.
We had a wonderful wedding at Springdale Station! It’s the perfect place for those planning on doing a DIY or semi-DIY event. The station is beautiful and unique with both indoor and outdoor space to utilize. Moya, our host was super accommodating and quickly responded to any questions we had. It was easy to schedule time with her when I needed to bring in someone to view the space before the wedding. I highly recommend the Springdale Station for an event at anytime but, especially during the evening. The garden lights above the old train tracks were amazing!
We loved this space. We booked it for an evening professional networking event. We combined use of the space and the adjoining courtyard with the friends and allies brewery space. Lots of charm, moya was helpful and responsive. Only drawback might be only a shared bathroom in the station but by working with the brewery, they offer clean and spacious facilities. Thanks to all.
