This incredibly unique home is located in the Seward Park area of Seattle. With commanding views of Lake Washington and Mt. Rainier, the home is a perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle and just relax by the pool or sit on the deck enjoying the calm and sunshine. Seward Park and Lake Washington Boulevard are just minutes away by car, bike or about a 10 minute walk. Downtown Seattle, CenturyLink, Safeco Field, and the Seattle Waterfront are all within about 15-20 minutes of the home. This 5,000 SF, 5 bedroom home can accommodate a large group of and we can work with you on how to best accommodate your party. The house has an open floor plan modeled in the mid century modern style with several comfortable gathering areas and each centered with one of the 3 large fireplaces. The fully equipped main kitchen features a large 48” Sub Zero Refrigerator, Eurochef cooktop with built in griddle, microwave, double Verona ovens and standard small appliances. The large island has seating for five and the adjacent dining room has seating for 6. On the pool level, the Kitchenette has an additional oven and fridge for easy access from the bar and pool areas. Entertainment – there are 4 HD TV’s located throughout the home and live TV, Netflix, Amazon, etc. can be accessed through TIVO. Apple TV and Xbox are also available. A vintage console video game complete with 80+ games including Pac Man, Galaga, Donkey Kong, Frogger and many more classics is available for your use. Audio entertainment is available through the home’s Yamaha MusicCast system which is accessible via Bluetooth or to stream Pandora, Spotify, etc. Also located in on the pool level is a full bar available for your use and alcohol is BYOB. Please keep in mind that parties or events that include non-guests are not allowed. The large sport court is the size of a tennis court and perfect for shooting basketballs or hockey pucks, scootering, roller skating/blading or feel free to set up the volleyball or tennis nets and enjoy multi sports. When ready to cool down, take a dip in the 1,050 SF crystal clear pool. Off-street parking is available for 6-8 vehicles and there is ample on-street parking.
Insurance. Renter will purchase and maintain Special Event Liability Insurance and provide Owner proof of same no later than 10 days prior to the Rental Period. Failure of Owner to specifically request such proof will not constitute a waiver of Renter’s insurance obligations. The insurance must provide coverage for personal injury and property damage, and name Owner as an additional insured. The limits shall be not less than $1 million per occurrence/single limit and $2 million aggregate. If alcohol is served the insurance must include Host Liquor Liability coverage. Where alcohol is provided by professional catering services, their insurance may fulfill this requirement. All of Renter’s vendors providing services for the event shall have commercial general liability insurance with limits as required by Renter above, and shall further name Owner as an additional insured on all policies. Owner and Renter, and all their employees, contractors, agents, guests, and assigns, waive all claims against one another to the extent covered by insurance, and Renter’s and its vendors’ insurance policies shall be endorsed to permit such waiver. Renter shall include a similar waiver of subrogation requirement benefitting Owner in all contracts with vendors. Municipal Regulations. Renter shall comply, and cause its vendors and guests to comply, with all city, county, state, and federal laws, including but not limited to 25.08.505 and 25.08.225 and parking laws. Consumption of Alcohol. The consumption or sale of alcohol is solely Renter’s responsibility, and the Owner is not liable for any events resulting from the availability or consumption of alcohol on the Property. For events including the consumption of alcohol, Renter shall obtain and maintain, at Renter’s cost, any and all permits as required by the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board and shall provide owner a copy of the license prior to occupying the property. Other. Owner does not provide dishes, glassware, pots, pans, knives, or utensils. Renter shall leave the Property in a clean condition immediately following the event, with all trash removed from the Property, as the Property does not have trash facilities for Renter’s use. The Rental Period does not include a “grace period” for set-up or clean-up, and Renter must ensure the Rental Period is adequate to complete all such work within that time. No penetrations may be made in any surface for decorations or any other reason, and Renter must obtain approval from Owner in advance before moving any furniture and floors must be adequately protected from production equipment and absolutely no tape is to be applied to the basement concrete floor. The main staircase shall be covered with carpet protection film and guests must either remove shoes or cover with shoe protectors. House Rules. Renter shall comply with the following house rules, and shall ensure all Renter’s agents, employees, family, and guests do the same: -Smoking is NOT allowed anywhere on the Property. -Owner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or illness occurring on the Property. Owner is not responsible for the Renter’s or its agents, employees, guests, or family’s loss of personal belongings or valuables. By accepting this reservation, Renter expressly assumes the risk of any harm arising from Renter’s use of the Property, including harm to others whom Renter invites to use the Property. -Keep the Property and all furnishings in good order and report any problems immediately to owner or owner’s agent. -Only use appliances for their intended uses. -Pets are not allowed on the Property unless approved by owner and a pet deposit of $200 is paid by renter. -Parking is limited to 8 vehicle(s) on the property. Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only. Ample additional parking on the road is permitted. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner. -Owner suggests Renters and employees, agents, family, and guests bring beach towels. Owner does not permit towels or linens to be taken from the Property. -Food is not allowed in the swimming pool. -Glass is not allowed in the back yard or swimming pool area. -Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times while on the Property. -Children under the age of 16 are not allowed in the pool without being accompanied by an adult. -Bicycles, skateboards, roller-skates, and rollerblades are not allowed in the home or around the pool but may be used on the tennis court. Safety equipment should be worn at all times and Renter assumes all risk and liability for injury. -No alcohol may be served or consumed by any minors under the age of 21 on the Property. -Cleaning fee is included in hourly rate. Cleaning time in excess of 5 hours is charged at $75/hr. -Host fee is included in hourly rate -For events with guests above 25, Security will be provided at a rate of $50/hr.
Guests may cancel their Booking until 30 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 30 days and 7 days before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. Barry and Carrie were the best hosts you could ask for. They are not only welcoming and genuinely kind but they are extraordinarily helpful and knowledgable about what you may or may not need for their space. We used this space for our film production and it was the perfect choice. They have a uniquely gorgeous home that comes with a first class experience. We will certainly be back!
Barry was extremely helpful and pleasant to work with! We were able to scout the house (twice) and the shoot went seamlessly. Their home is beautiful with unique details and a lot of room for production. The outside parking lot is ample space for vehicles, or a motorhome.
First off, we were coming from NYC and Barry and Carrie were so helpful in the pre-production phase and answered so many of our questions. They were professional and prompt with their communication, which I find invaluable when it comes to working with a location. Secondly, the location was PRISTINE! The entire crew and client was in love with the home and its intricate details. They have been champions in restoring this mid-century gem and are proud to share the space. One production note, bring floor protection, it would be a-shame to ruin what they've restored.
The Seattle Mid Century Modern is an incredible location for photoshoots and events. The hosts were responsive, gracious, and accommodating despite a few last minute schedule changes on our part. The house is spacious and the interior design is impeccable. Seattle is lucky to have such a versitle & top-notch location. Highly recommend and will book again.
We rented this house for a commercial shoot and it was perfect! House was well decorated, super clean, had good natural light and the owners were great to work with. I highly recommend renting this house for a shoot.
This was the best rental space experience I've ever had. I searched the internet for hours looking for a unique space to rent for a work party. I had almost given up when I found Carrie and Barry's spectacular home. The pool caught my eye first, but the perfectly, and thoughtfully, restored home was what sealed the deal. The party was in six days so I inquired instantly and within the hour I was on the phone with them, on a Sunday evening! They were so friendly, answered all my questions, and were incredibly accommodating and flexible. They were patient while I ran the idea of a pool party by my fellow party planners, and even let us tour the space with a few hours notice. They hired a "chaperone" as part of the deal (since this is their house!) and she was lovely. She was there to help set up, was ready to help with anything we needed, and made sure everything went smoothly. She even cut up our watermelon for us. Above and beyond, in my opinion. The space is as special as it looks. Mid century everything. Wide open rooms with a perfect flow and the decor you dream about. At first I was worried it was too nice, but they've done a great job making it welcoming and relaxing. The party was perfect and everyone loved being together for an old fashioned pool party. There was something for everyone. Some people played basketball, lawn games, swam, lounged, grilled...they even allowed us to bring a DJ. I have nothing negative to say. It was simply the best. We're already planning to hold next years summer work party there and I know that it'll be just as magical.
I rented this house for a 2-day photo shoot. My crew and I were so pleased with our experience. The hosts were gracious and accommodating, as well as very responsive. The property is amazing ... great interior decor and furnishings. I would love to go back if I can!
Carrie and Barry were wonderful hosts! Communication and coordination was a breeze. The home was absolutely beautiful and perfect for our filming needs. I look forward to booking their unique and perfectly styled home for future projects.
